Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa perantauan di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa perantauan yang berkuliah di 11 Program Studi di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial UNJ. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, angket (kuesioner), dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan sebagai dokumen pendukung. Berdasarkan pada analisa yang dilakukan, diperoleh kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa perantauan memiliki perilaku konsumtif, macam-macam perilaku konsumtif seperti pembelian produk fashion, produk skincare/kosmetik dan juga konsumtif dalam hal bersenang-senang. Perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa perantauandiakibatkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti harga yang ditawarkan cukup murah, kemasan produk yang menarik, desain menarik dari sebuah produk, ingin meningkatkan percaya diri, hangout ke mall, coffee shop, café, dan tempat hiburan lainnya hanya kesenangan semata sehingga menunjukkan perilaku pembelian tidak rasional, pemborosan, dan juga pembelian impulsif. This study aims to determine the form of consumptive behavior of overseas students at the Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Jakarta. The subjects of this study were overseas students studying in 11 study programs at the Faculty of Social Sciences UNJ. This research uses a descriptive method. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires (questionnaires), documentation and literature study as supporting documents. Based on the analysis carried out, it was concluded that the results of this study indicate that overseas students have consumptive behavior, various kinds of consumptive behavior such as buying fashion products, skincare/cosmetic products and also consumptive in terms of having fun. Consumptive behavior of overseas students is caused by several factors such as the price offered is quite cheap, attractive product packaging, attractive design of a product, wanting to increase self-confidence, hanging out at the mall, coffee shop, café, and other entertainment places is just a pleasure so that it shows behavior irrational buying, waste, and also impulse buying.
