Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan model ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan sebuah produk berupa buku bacaan Bahasa Inggris berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) untuk siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model pengembangan hasil kombinasi dan modifikasi antara model pendekatan sistem Dick and Carrey dan model pengembangan Sugiyono. Terdapat delapan tahapan dari hasil modifikasi tersebut yaitu analisis instruksional, merumuskan tujuan instruksional khusus, desain produk, mengembangkan produk, validasi ahli, revisi, uji coba produk, dan Uji keefektifan produk. Responden yang terlibat dalam penelitian dan pengembangan ini diantaranya, dua dosen ahli bahasa, satu dosen ahli media, satu dosen ahli desain instruksional, guru Bahasa Inggris, dan 41 orang siswa kelas V SDS Muhammadiyah 24 Rawamangun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku bacaan Bahasa Inggris berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) untuk siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar memeproleh penilaian sangat baik. Hal tersebut dapat dibuktikan dari nilai rata-rata keseluruhan expert review sebesar 94%, rata-rata penilaian small group evaluation sebesar 82%, rata-rata penilaian uji lapangan field test sebesar 93,8%, dan peningkatan hasil pre-test dan post-test sebesar 31,25%, artinya produk yang dihasilkan sangat baik dan efektif digunakan pada pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. The focus of this research and development to develop a reading book of English-based Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) for 5th grade Elementary School students. This research used research and development method (R & D) with combination of development model and modification between Dick and Carrey system approach model and Sugiyono development model. There are seven stages of the modified result: instructional analysis, formulating specific instructional objectives, product design, expert validation, revision, product trial, and product effectiveness test. Respondents involved in the research and development include two linguist lecturers, one lecturer of media expert, one instructor of instructional design, English teacher, and 39 students of class V SDS Muhammadiyah 24 Rawamangun. The results showed that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) English-based textbook for grade V Elementary School students earned excellent appraisal. It can be proven from the average value of the overall expert review of 94%, the average evaluation of small group evaluation is 82%, the average field test field assessment is 93,8%, and the increase of pre-test and post- Test of 31.25%, means that the product is very good and effective use in learning English.
