Abstract

Latar Belakang: Cyberbullying adalah suatu perbuatan intimidasi yang terjadi di dunia maya yang umumnya terjadi di media sosial. Banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi remaja untuk melakukan cyberbullying, hal tersebut akibat kuranya kontrol diri. Kontrol diri adalah kemampuan individu untuk dapat menahan atau mengarah diri sendiri kearah yang lebih baik saat berhadapan dengan berbagai gangguan-gangguan. Metode: Kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian: Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan teknik product moment (pearson correlation) diperoleh koefisien korelasi (rxy) = -0,335 dengan p (sig.) = 0.017. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang sangat signifikan antara variabel kontrol diri dengan variabel cyberbullying pada remaja di sosial media. Dimana hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kontrol diri, maka semakin rendah perilaku cyberbullying. Sebaliknya, semakin rendah kontrol diri maka semakin tinggi perilaku cyberbullying. ***** Background: Cyberbullying is an act of intimidation that occurs in cyberspace which generally occurs on social media. Many factors can influence teenagers to do cyberbullying, this is due to a lack of self-control. Self-control is an individual’s ability to be able to withstand or direct oneself in a better direction when dealing with various disturbances. Method: Quantitative descriptive. Research results: The results of hypothesis testing using the product moment technique (pearson correlation) obtained a correlation coefficient (rxy) = -0,335 with p (sig.) = 0.17. These results indicate that there is a very significant negative relationship between the self-control variable and the cyberbullying variable in adolescents on social media. Where it shows that the higher the self-control, the lower the cyberbullying behavior. Conversely, the lower the self-control, the higher the cyberbullying behavior.
