Abstract
Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kecerdasan emosional dengan kecemasan akademik mahasiswa yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi era pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sample adalah non-probability sampling. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 198 mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang menyusun skripsi di Jabodetabek. Alat ukur penelitian ini menggunakan Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Short Form (TEIQue-SF) oleh Petrides (2009) dan Anxiety Scale yang diadaptasi dari penelitian Tarigan (2017). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kecemasan akademik. Nilai koefisien korelasi adalah -0.599 yang berarti arah hubungan negatif. Kesimpulannya, maka semakin tinggi Kecerdasan Emosional pada mahasiswa akhir yang tingkat mengerjakan skripsi, maka akan semakin rendah Kecemasan Akademik yang dialaminya. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic anxiety of students who are working on thesis during the COVID-19 pandemic era. This research uses quantitative methods with non-probability sampling technique. Respondents in this study amounted to 198 final year students who wrote a thesis in Jabodetabek. The measuring instrument of this study uses the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Short Form (TEIQue-SF) by Petrides (2009) and the Anxiety Scale which was adapted from Tarigan's research (2017). The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and academic anxiety. The correlation coefficient value is -0.599 which means the direction of the relationship is negative. In conclusion, the higher the Emotional Intelligence of the final student who is working on the thesis, the lower the Academic Anxiety he will experience.
