Abstract

The government of Indonesia has standardized the process of learning for higher education which relevant to 21st Century, However, there is a lack of proper materials that can accommodate the 21st Century skills, especially critical thinking skills. This study aims to develop critical thinking skills integrated - speaking learning materials for General Speaking (B1) in English Language Education Study Program. The design of the research in this study are Design and Development Research; Need Analysis, Developing Course Grid, Develop the First Draft of Materials, Evaluation of the materials, and Write the Revised Materials and qualitative descriptive is a research method used in this study. The findings revealed that critical thinking skills which have been integrated in the task of the materials is still insufficient. The mode of critical thinking “Reason Effectively” was found as the highest number and the others are still low. Therefore, three units of speaking materials was developed based on the critical thinking skills infusion tables. Pemerintah Indonesia telah menstandarisasi proses pembelajaran untuk pendidikan tinggi yang relevan dengan abad 21, namun masih terdapat kekurangan materi yang tepat yang dapat mengakomodasi keterampilan abad 21, terutama keterampilan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi pembelajaran speaking yang terintegrasi dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis untuk standard CEFR B1 (General Speaking) di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Desain penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah Design and Development Research; Analisis Kebutuhan, Mengembangkan course grid , Penyusunan draf pertama materi, Evaluasi materi oleh ahli, dan Penulisan Materi Revisi dan deskriptif kualitatif merupakan metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis yang telah diintegrasikan dalam tugas materi masih kurang. Modus berpikir kritis “Bernalar Secara Efektif” ditemukan sebagai angka tertinggi dan yang lainnya masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, tiga unit materi berbicara dikembangkan berdasarkan tabel infus keterampilan berpikir kritis.
