Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi yang digunakan guru dalam menanamkan nilai karakter JUARA (jujur, ulet, amanah, religius, dan aktif) kepada peserta didik kelas 8. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 252 Jakarta. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) dalam menanamkan karakter jujur, guru menggunakan strategi rubrik penilaian (khusus pelajaran bahasa Inggris), pakta integritas, koreksi pribadi, memberikan tugas, teladan/contoh, nasihat/himbauan, 2) dalam menanamkan karakter ulet, guru menggunakan strategi dengan memberikan kepercayaan, contoh/teladan, kerja kelompok, tugas hafalan (khusus pelajaran agama Islam) dan melibatkan peserta didik dalam berbagai kegiatan, 3) dalam menanamkan karakter amanah, guru menggunakan strategi dengan memberikan tanggung jawab, teladan/contoh, dan himbauan, 4) dalam menanamkan karakter religius, guru menggunakan strategi tadarus Al-Quran bersama, ibadah pagi (nonmuslim), mengadakan sholat berjamaah dan dhuha, membiasakan berdoa sebelum belajar dan pulang, dan mengadakan acara pada hari besar keagamaan, dan 5) dalam menanamkan karakter aktif, guru menggunakan strategi dengan mewajibkan ekstrakurikuler wajib dan pilihan, kegiatan rabu perform, diskusi kelompok, piket kelas, kegiatan jumat sehat, teladan/contoh, nasihat dan metode tanya jawab. Faktor-faktor yang mendukung penanaman nilai karakter antara lain: dari diri sendiri peserta didik yang memiliki motivasi dan kesadaran untuk selalu berperilaku baik, dan adanya peran orang tua, peran guru, peran teman, lingkungan, sarana dan prasarana, dan budaya sekolah. Faktor-faktor yang menghambat penanaman nilai karakter antara lain dari diri sendiri peserta didik yang tidak memiliki kesadaran, kemauan, motivasi, belum terbiasa, dan tidak adanya peran dari lingkungan, peran orang tua, peran teman, pengaruh media sosial, dan kondisi sosial ekonomi. This study aims to determine the strategies used by teachers in instilling Champion character values (honest, hard work, trust, religious, and active) in grade 8 students. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted at SMPN 252 Jakarta. Collecting data using interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study are: 1) in instilling honest character, the teacher uses an assessment rubric strategy (especially for English lessons), integrity pacts, personal correction, giving assignments, role models/examples, advice/appeals, 2) in instilling tenacious character, the teacher uses strategies by giving trust, role models/examples, group work, rote assignments (specifically Islamic religious lessons) and involving students in various activities, 3) in instilling a trustworthy character, teachers use strategies by giving responsibility, role models/examples, and appeals, 4) in instilling religious character, the teacher uses the strategy of reading the Al- Quran together, Christian morning worship (non-Muslims), holding congregational and dhuha prayers, getting used to praying before studying and going home, and holding events on religious holidays, and 5) in instilling active character , teachers use strategies by requiring mandatory and optional extracurriculars, Wednesday performance activities, group discussions, class pickets, healthy friday activities, role models/examples, advice and question and answer methods. Factors that support the inculcation of character values include students themselves who have the motivation and awareness to always behave well, and the role of parents, the role of teachers, the role of friends, the environment, facilities and infrastructure, and school culture. Factors that hinder the cultivation of character values include students themselves who do not have awareness, will, motivation, are not used to it, and there is no role from the environment, the role of parents, the role of friends, the influence of social media, and socio-economic conditions.
