Abstract

Hambatan menjadi faktor penting dalam proses aktualisasi diri. Hambatan-hambatan dapat dimiliki baik dalam dunia nyata maupun dalam karya sastra. Pada karya sastra, hambatan-hambatan aktualisasi diri dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar yang menarik untuk siswa kelas XII yang masih minim dengan bahan ajar sastra yang menarik. Mempelajari sastra akan semakin menarik dengan memperkenalkan lebih banyak pendekatan sastra pada siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh pemahaman mendalam tentang hambatan-hambatan aktualisasi diri tokoh utama Novel Aroma Karsa Karya Dewi Lestari. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan struktural dan psikologi humanistik oleh Abraham Maslow. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Aroma Karsa karya Dewi Lestari. Fokus penelitian berupa hambatan-hambatan aktualisasi diri tokoh utama novel Aroma Karsa karya Dewi Lestari. Prosedur pengumpulan data berupa membaca berulangkali, mengidentifikasi struktur novel, karakteristik, tahap-tahap dan hambatan aktualisasi diri, serta melakukan studi pustaka untuk mendapatkan data sekunder dalam menganalasis penelitian hambatan-hambatan aktualisasi diri. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah membaca dan mengelompokkan data lalu menganalisis kalimat-kalimat yang berhubungan dengan aktualisasi diri dalam novel. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah novel Aroma Karsa memiliki tiga tokoh utama. Yaitu, Jati, Raras, dan Suma. Ketiga tokoh utama berhasil mencapai empat belas karakteristik aktualisasi diri, yaitu 1) Mampu melihat realitas secara efisien. 2) Penerimaan terhadap diri sendiri, orang lain, dan orang lain apa adanya. 3) Spontanitas, kesederhanaan, dan kewajaran. 4) Terpusat pada persoalan 5) Membutuhkan kesendirian 6) Otonomi: kemandirian terhadap budaya dan lingkungan. 7) Kesegaran dan apresiasi yang berkelanjutan. 8) Kesadaran sosial. 9) Hubungan interpersonal 10) Demokratis 11) Rasa humor yang bermakna etis. 12) Kreativitas 13) Independensi 14) Memiliki pengalaman puncak. Lima tahap aktualisasi diri seperti kebutuhan fisiologis, rasa aman, rasa cinta, penghargaan dan aktualisasi diri. Tahap-tahap yang ditemukan pada tokoh utama tidak berurutan sehingga hierarki kebutuhan Maslow dipenuhi namun secara acak tidak sesuai dengan hierarkinya. Serta hambatan internal yang berasal dari diri sendiri dan hambatan eksternal yang berasal dari lingkungan dan orang lain. Pada ketiga tokoh utama, menyelesaikan hambatan-hambatan aktualisasi diri berdasarkan memiliki karakteristik aktualisasi diri namun tidak setiap tokoh memiliki hambatan aktualisasi diri saat memenuhi tahap-tahap aktualisasi diri. Barriers can be had both in the real world and in literary works. In literary works, barriers to self-actualization can be used as interesting teaching materials for class XII students who are still lacking in interesting literary teaching materials. Studying literature will be more interesting by introducing more literary approaches to students.This study aims to obtain an in-depth understanding of the obstacles to self-actualization of the main character in a novel entitled Aroma Karsa by Dewi Lestari. This qualitative study used the content analysis method with a structural approach and humanistic psychology by Abraham Maslow. The data source for this study was a novel entitled Aroma Karsa by Dewi Lestari. The study focuses on the obstacles to the self-actualization of the main character in the novel. Data were collected by reading repeatedly, identifying intrinsic elements, characteristics, stages, and barriers to self-actualization, and conducting literature studies to obtain secondary data. The data analysis covered reading and grouping data and then analyzing sentences related to self-actualization in the novel. The result of this study showed that the novel has three main characters namely, Jati, Raras, and Suma. They all achieve fourteen characteristics of self-actualization, and five stages of self-actualization and can overcome two barriers to self-actualization. The fourteen characteristics are 1) Being able to see reality efficiently; 2) Acceptance of oneself and others as they are; 3) Spontaneity, simplicity, and fairness; 4) Focused on issues; 5) Requiring solitariness; 6) Autonomy, independence from culture and environment; 7) Continuous freshness and appreciation; 8) Social awareness; 9) Interpersonal relations; 10) Democratic; 11) Meaningful and ethical sense of humor; 12) Creativity; 13) Independence; and 14) Have peak experience. The five stages of self-actualization are physiological needs, safety needs, love needs, esteem needs and self-actualization The stages found in the main character are not sequential so that Maslow's hierarchy of needs is fulfilled but randomly does not match the hierarchy. As well as internal obstacles that come from oneself and external obstacles that come from the environment and other people. The obstacles that the characters go through occur when each character goes through the stage of self-actualization needs. In the three main characters, solving self-actualization obstacles is based on having self-actualization characteristics, but not every character has self-actualization obstacles when fulfilling the stages of self-actualization.
