Abstract

Kata Kunci: pressure, opportunity, rationalization, kecurangan akademik *** This study aims to determine the effect of pressure, opportunity, and rationalization on academic fraud for students of the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Class of 2019. This research was conducted for three months starting in June 2023 to August 2023. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey research method and uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The population in this study were students who had committed academic fraud. Based on the theory of Hair et al. (2014), the number of samples in this study was 110 students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. Data for all variables are primary data. Data processing in this study used the SPSS version 26.0. The data analysis techniques used are (1) Analysis Requirements Test which consists of normality test and linearity test. The results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test obtained a significance value of 0.087 > 0.05; The results of the linearity test with the Deviation from Linearity value of the pressure variable of 0.114, the opportunity variable of 0.062, the rationalization variable of 0.505; (2) Classical Assumption Test consisting of multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test. The multicollinearity test results for the pressure variable have a Tolerance value of 0, 496 > 0.1 and VIF 1,057 < 10, the opportunity variable has a Tolerance value of 0.601 > 0.1 and VIF 1,665 < 10, the rationalization variable has a Tolerance value of 0.579 > 0.1 and VIF 1,726 < 10. The heteroscedasticity test results for the pressure variable are 0.715 > 0.05, the opportunity variable is 0.893 > 0.05, and the rationalization variable is 0.796 > 0.05; (3) Multiple Linear Regression Test with the results of the equation Y = 0.760 + 0.168X1 + 0.233X2 + 0.413X3; (4) Hypothesis testing which consists of the F test and t test. The results of the F test in the ANOVA table are F-count 34.001 > F-table 2.69 which means that there is a joint influence between Pressure (X1), Opportunity (X2), and Rationalization (X3) on Academic Fraud (Y). The t-test results for the pressure variable are t-count 2.392 > t-table 1.98260, the opportunity variable is t-count 2.572 > t-table 1.98260, the rationalization variable is t-count 5.182 > t-table 1.98260. This means that there is a positive effect between each variable, that is pressure (X1), opportunity (X2), and rationalization (X3) on academic fraud (Y); (5) Analysis of the coefficient of determination with a result of 0.490 which means that 49% of academic fraud variables can be explained by the variables of pressure, opportunity, and rationalization, while the remaining 51% is influenced by other variables not examined. Keywords: pressure, opportunity, rationalization, academic fraud
