Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya tindak kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh tokoh laki-laki terhadap tokoh perempuan dalam novel Putri Cina karya Sindhunata. Tokoh perempuan di dalam novel Putri Cina banyak mengalami kekerasan, seperti objektifikasi terhadap tubuh perempuan, pembalasan dendam dengan cara membunuh, hingga pemerkosaan yang dilakukan baik oleh masyarakat maupun petinggi kerajaan kepada tokoh perempuan. Bentuk-bentuk kekerasan yang menimpa tokoh perempuan bukan hanya termanifestasi dalam bentuk kekerasan fisik, melainkan juga dalam bentuk kekerasan psikologis, kekerasan seksual, kekerasan finansial, dan kekerasan spiritual. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan struktur novel dan bentuk-bentuk kekerasan terhadap tokoh perempuan pada novel Putri Cina karya Sindhunata. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini membahas mengenai struktur novel dan bentuk-bentuk kekerasan terhadap tokoh perempuan dalam novel Putri Cina karya Sindhunata. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori strukturalis Nurgiyantoro dan kritik sastra feminis ideologis. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan penyajian data berupa kata-kata, dialog, kalimat, dan paragraf yang menunjukkan struktur novel dan bentuk-bentuk kekerasan terhadap tokoh perempuan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analisis di mana peneliti menyajikan fakta-fakta terlebih dahulu dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tokoh perempuan mengalami kekerasan dalam bentuk kekerasan fisik, kekerasan psikologis, kekerasan seksual, kekerasan finansial, dan kekerasan spiritual. Kekerasan yang terjadi pada tokoh perempuan dilakukan dan berkaitan dengan sifat tokoh laki-laki. Pada praktiknya, tokoh perempuan dapat mengalami dua bentuk kekerasan di saat yang bersamaan dan kekerasan yang telah terjadi kerap menjadi pemicu terjadinya bentuk kekerasan yang lain. Kata Kunci: bentuk-bentuk kekerasan, tokoh perempuan, kritik sastra feminis, novel Putri Cina. ***** This research is motivated by the existence of acts of violence perpetrated by male characters against female characters in Sindhunata’s Putri Cina novel. Female characters in Putri Cina novel experience a lot of violence, such as objectification of women's body, revenge by killing, and rape committed by both the public and royal officials. The forms of violence that befall female characters are not only manifested in the form of physical violence, but also in the form of psychological violence, sexual violence, financial violence, and spiritual violence. The purpose of this study is to describe the structure of the novel and the forms of violence against female characters in Sindhunata's Putri Cina novel. The formulation of the research problem discusses the structure of the novel and forms of violence against female characters in Sindhunata’s Putri Cina novel. The theory used in this study is Nurgiyantoro's structuralist theory and ideological feminist literary criticism. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with the presentation of data in the form of words, dialogues, sentences, and paragraphs which show the structure of the novel and forms of violence against female characters. The method used in this study is a descriptive analysis method in which the researcher presents the facts first and then proceeds with the analysis. The results of this study indicate that female characters experience violence in the form of physical violence, psychological violence, sexual violence, financial violence, and spiritual violence. Violence that occurs in female characters is carried out and is related to the nature of male characters. In practice, female characters can experience two forms of violence at the same time and the violence that has occurred often triggers other forms of violence.
