Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menggali informasi secara mendalam mengenai proses dan langkah-langkah dalam pengembangan kemampuan wicara fonem velar khususnya pada /k/ dan / Ŋ/ siswa tunarungu kelas 1 SLB B Pangudi Luhur Jakarta Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan model analisis Miles dan Huberman dengan alur reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan data. Sumber penelitian ini ialah guru bina wicara, guru kelas dan siswa kelas IA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pengembangan kemampuan wicara fonem velar /k/ dan /Ŋ/ tidak dapat langsung dikembangkan melainkan, melalui tahapan yang terdiri dari dasar ucapan, proses pembentukan fonem velar /k/ dan /Ŋ/ dan evaluasi. Bina wicara yang dilakukan di kelas I SLB B Pangudi Luhur dalam mengembangkan kemampuan wicara fonem velar /k/ dan /Ŋ/ yaitu terdiri dari beberapa kegiatan (1) wicara individual, merupakan wicara individu dalam pengembangan kemampuan wicara fonem velar /k/ dan /Ŋ/ siswa tunarungu kelas I SLB B Pangudi Luhur diajarkan dengan percakapan lalu diulang-ulang pengucapannya jika dibenarkan maka guru bina wicara menggunakan alat bantu spatel, (2) wicara klasikal yaitu wicara yang dilakukan secara klasikal di kelas dalam mengembangkan fonem velar /k/ dan /Ŋ/ maka siswa tunarungu kelas I SLB B Pangudi Luhur mengucapkan /katak/ dan /bintang/ secara bersama-sama hingga tepat pengucapannya baik secara individu atau bersama-sama, (3) wicara terpadu yaitu wicara yang dilakukan oleh guru kelas dalam mengembangkan kemampuan wicara fonem velar /k/ dan /Ŋ/ yaitu pada wicara bersambung misal /mangga enak/ siswa tunarungu kelas I SLB B Pangudi Luhur mengucapkan bersambung tanpa terputus-putus atau patah-patah. Evaluasi secara keseluruhan diberikan beberapa tes yaitu tes artikulasi dan tes deteksi fonem. ***** This research aims to find out and explore in-depth information about the process and steps in the development of speech skills of velar phonemes, especially on /k/ and / Ŋ/ of deaf students in grade 1 SLB B Pangudi Luhur West Jakarta. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the Miles and Huberman analysis model with the flow of data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusions. The sources of this research are speech guidance teachers, class teachers and students of class IA. The results showed that in the development of speech skills velar phonemes /k/ and /Ŋ/ cannot be directly developed but rather, through stages consisting of basic speech, the process of forming velar phonemes /k/ and /Ŋ/ and evaluation. Speech coaching conducted in class I SLB B Pangudi Luhur in developing the speech ability of velar phonemes /k/ and /Ŋ/ which consists of several activities (1) individual speech, is an individual speech in developing the speech ability of velar phonemes /k/ and /Ŋ/ deaf students in class I SLB B Pangudi Luhur taught by conversation and then repeated pronunciation if it is justified then the speech coach teacher uses spatel tools, (2) classical speech is speech that is done classically in the classroom in developing velar phonemes /k/ and /Ŋ/ then the deaf students of class I SLB B Pangudi Luhur say /katak/ and /bintang/ together until the pronunciation is correct either individually or together, (3) integrated speech, namely speech carried out by the class teacher in developing the speech skills of the velar phonemes /k/ and /Ŋ/, namely in continuous speech, for example /mango delicious/, the deaf students of class I of SLB B Pangudi Luhur say continuous without being interrupted or broken. The overall evaluation is given several tests, namely articulation tests and phoneme detection tests.
