Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan hasil belajar antara penggunaan media Twitter dengan media PowerPoint dalam pembelajaran Geografi materi Mitigasi Bencana di kelas XI IPS SMAN 113 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif melalui pendekatan quasi eksperimen. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik nonprobability sampling dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling atau teknik pengambilan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu (Peserta didik pengguna Twitter). Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPS 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang akan menggunakan media sosial Twitter dalam pembelajaran dan kelas XI IPS 3 sebagai kelas kontrol yang akan menggunakan Powerpoint dalam pembelajaran. Pengambilan data diperoleh melalui pre test dan post test. Dalam hasil uji instrumen penelitian, data bernilai valid dan reliabel. Pada hasil persyaratan analisis menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas yang menyatakan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan bersifat homogen serta hasil analisis data pengujian dua rata rata (Independent Sample T Test) memperoleh nilai taraf signifikan 0,003 yang berarti Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Hal itu menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik dalam materi mitigasi setelah menggunakan media sosial Twitter. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen memperoleh selisih hasil post test dan pre test adalah 17,72. Sedangkan kelas kontrol memperoleh selisih post test dan pre test adalah 9,53. Kata Kunci : Media Pembelajaran, Media Sosial Twitter, Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik. *** This study aims to analyze the differences in learning outcomes between the use of Twitter media and PowerPoint media in learning Geography Materials Disaster Mitigation in Class XI IPS SMAN 113 Jakarta. This research uses quantitative methods through a quasi-experimental approach. In this study, using nonprobability sampling techniques with samples taking purposive samplings or sampler taking techniques with certain considerations. (Twitter user learning participants). The sample on this study is Class XI IPS 4 as an experimental class that will use social media Twitter in learning and Class XI IPS 3 as a control class which will use Powerpoint in learning. Data collection is obtained through pre-test and post-test. In the test results of the research instrument, the data is valid and reliable. On the result of the analysis requirement using the normality test and the homogenity test which states that the data are distributed normally and are homogeneous as well as the analysis of the data of the independent sample T test obtained a significant improvement value of 0,003 which means Ha accepted and Ho rejected. It shows that there is a difference in the learning outcome of students in mitigation material after using social media Twitter. The test results showed that the experimental class obtained the difference between the results of the post test and the pre test was 17.72.
