Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui realitas di lapangan tempat bekerja alumni peserta Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Basic Safety Training Kapal Niaga (BST-Niaga) di Pelabuhan Muara Angke, Jakarta Utara. Semula kegiatan diklat diselenggarakan pada Balai Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Transportasi Laut (BP2TL) Jakarta, dengan mendeskripsikan apakah awak kapal dapat mengimplementasikan tujuan pembelajaran Diklat BST-Niaga sebagai langkah mewujudkan keamanan berlayar dengan ragam kompetensi yang dimiliki pasca mengikuti diklat keterampilan pelaut. Informan dalam penelitian adalah nakhoda kapal dan Anak Buah Kapal (ABK) yang telah menamatkan proses pembelajaran pendidikan dan pelatihan Basic Safety Training sebanyak 10 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dalam model pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan secara deskriptif proses implementasi teknik bertahan diri di laut lepas yang dilakukan oleh awak kapal dengan melakukan pemeriksaan administrasi, sarana dan prasarana penunjang berlayar aman. Jika keadaan darurat mengharuskan awak kapal melakukan evakuasi, maka teknik yang diterapkan dengan melakukan terjun bebas. Kemampuan menggunakan APAR (Alat Pemadam Api Ringan) dan Nozzle sebagai langkah pencegahan penanggulangan bahaya kebakaran. Pertolongan pertama terhadap korban di atas kapal dilakukan dengan mengenali gejala, lakukan tindakan jika memahami dan jika ragu melakukan pemanggilan tim medis. Belajar dari pengalaman, kini awak kapal semakin disiplin, bekerja mandiri, percaya diri, saling tolong menolong dan produktif dalam mengerjakan pekerjaan sesuai dengan pembagian tugas kerja. ABSTRACT This research aims to find out the reality in the field where alumni of the Basic Safety Training for Commercial Ships (BST-Niaga) education and training participants work at Muara Angke Harbor, North Jakarta. Initially the training activities were held at the Maritime Transportation Education and Training Center (BP2TL) Jakarta, by describing whether the ship's crew could implement the learning objectives of the BST-Niaga Training as a step to realizing sailing safety with the various competencies they had after attending the seafaring skills training. The informants in the research were the ship captain and crew members (ABK) who had completed the Basic Safety Training education and training process as many as 10 people. The method used in this research is a descriptive method in a qualitative approach model. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis is used through data reduction, data presentation, conclusions and verification. The results of this research show descriptively the process of implementing survival techniques on the high seas carried out by the ship's crew inspection of administration, facilities and infrastructure supporting safe sailing. If an emergency requires the crew to carry out an evaluation, the technique used is free fall. Ability to use APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) and Nozzle as a preventive measure for dealing with fire hazards First aid for victims on board is carried out by recognizing the symptoms, taking action if they understand and if in doubt, calling the medical team. Learning from experience, now ship crews are more disciplined, work independently, are confident, help each other and are productive in carrying out work according to the division of work assignments.
