Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman menggunakan metode cloze procedure pada siswa hambatan pendengaran pada aspek pengembangan kosa kata dan pemahaman literal. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan desain penelitian dari Kemmis dan Mc Taggart, dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus melalui tahapan yakni (1) perencanaan, (2) tindakan dan pengamatan, (3) refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa dengan hambatan pendengaran kelas IX sebanyak 3 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengamatan, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian sebelum tindakan diperoleh rerata sebesar 61 berada pada kategori sedang, dengan perolehan siswa EW sebesar 45 sudah cukup mampu menguasai aspek pemahaman literal, siswa SH sebesar 68 sudah mampu menguasai aspek pemahaman literal, dan siswa RF sebesar 70 sudah menguasai aspek kosa kata dan pemahaman literal. Pada tindakan pada siklus I memperoleh hasil rerata sebesar 61,7 dengan rincian siswa EW sebesar 57,3 sudah cukup mampu menguasai aspek pemahaman literal, siswa SH sebesar 66 sudah mampu menguasai aspek pemahaman literal dan cukup mampu pada aspek kosa kata, dan siswa RF sebesar 61,7 sudah menguasai aspek pemahaman literal. Pada siklus II diperoleh hasil rerata sebesar 76,7 berada pada kategori tinggi.dengan perolehan siswa EW sebesar 75 sudah mampu menguasai aspek pemahaman literal dan kosa kata, siswa SH sebesar 80 sudah mampu menguasai aspek pemahaman literal dan kosa kata, dan siswa RF sebesar 75 sudah menguasai aspek pemahaman literal dan kosa kata. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah metode cloze procedure dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dengan hambatan pendengaran kelas IX pada aspek kosa kata dan pemahaman literal. Hasil ini juga membuktikan bahwa metode cloze procedure dapat dijadikan referensi salah sațu metode pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa pada kekhususan lainnya seperti siswa dengan hambatan intelektual, siswa kesulitan belajar maupun siswa dengan tunadaksa. ***** This research aims to improve reading comprehension skills using the cloze procedure method in students with hearing impairments in the aspects of vocabulary development and literal comprehension. The method used is Classroom Action Research with a research design from Kemmis and Mc Taggart, carried out in two cycles, going through stages, namely (1) planning, (2) action and observation, (3) reflection. The research subjects in this study were 3 students with hearing impairments in class IX. Data collection is carried out by observation, tests and documentation. The conclusion of this research is that the cloze procedure method can improve the reading comprehension skills of students with hearing impairments in class IX in the aspects of vocabulary and literal comprehension. These results also prove that the cloze procedure method can be used as a reference for learning methods in improving students' reading comprehension skills in other specialties such as students with intellectual disabilities, students with learning difficulties and students with physical impairments.
