Abstract

Karakter peduli lingkungan menjadi karakter yang harus dimiliki oleh seseorang pada masa permasalahan lingkungan yang semakin tinggi, keluarga dan sekolah berperan membentuk karakter peduli lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh gaya pengasuhan dan iklim sekolah terhadap karakter peduli lingkungan. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif asosiatif dan pengambilan data dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juni 2024. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner menggunakan Google form. Sampel penelitian dipilih menggunakan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 255 yang terdiri atas siswa kelas 7 dan 8. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa gaya pengasuhan termasuk kedalam kategori cukup baik, iklim sekolah termasuk kedalam kategori tinggi dan karakter peduli lingkungan termasuk ke dalam kategori tinggi. Artinya, gaya pengasuhan belum maksimal diterapkan orang tua, iklim sekolah menunjukan iklim sekolah terbuka dan positif, dan karakter peduli lingkungan menunjukan hasil yang belum baik. Hasil uji regresi menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara gaya pengasuhan terhadap karakter peduli lingkungan dengan p-value = 0,009 < 0,05 dan hasil uji regresi menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara iklim sekolah terhadap karakter peduli lingkungan dengan p-value = 0,000 < 0,05. Hasil signifikansi regresi berganda menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara gaya pengasuhan dan iklim sekolah terhadap karakter peduli lingkungan dengan p-value = 0,000 > 0,05. Oleh karena itu, orang tua diharapkan dapat terlibat secara langsung dalam setiap tahap perkembangan anak dengan memberi bimbingan dan pengawasan serta sekolah diharapkan dapat mewujudkan iklim sekolah berlandaskan kebersihan dan kepedulian lingkungan. This study aims to determine the effect of parenting style and school climate on the character of environmental care. The method in this study is associative quantitative and data collection was carried out in May - June 2024. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires using Google form. The research sampel was selected using proportionate stratified random sampling technique with a total of 255 respondents consisting of 7th and 8th grade students. The results showed that the parenting style was included in the good enough category, the school climate was included in the high category and the character of environmental care was included in the high category. This means that the parenting style has not been maximally applied by parents, the school climate shows an open and positive school climate, and the character of environmental care shows poor results. The regression test results show that there is a significant influence between parenting styles on the character of environmental care with p-value = 0.009 < 0.05 and the regression test results show that there is a significant influence between school climate on the character of environmental care with p-value = 0.000 < 0.05. The results of multiple regression significance show that there is a significant influence between parenting style and school climate on environmental care character with p-value = 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, parents are expected to be directly involved in every stage of children's development by providing guidance and supervision and schools are expected to realize a school climate based on cleanliness and environmental care.
