Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dukungan teman sebaya terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran prakarya di SMPN 17 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif asosiatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 121 responden dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengambilan data berlangsung sejak bulan Januari-Mei 2024. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur dukungan teman sebaya adalah Perceived Friend/Peer Academic Support Scale (PFASS) dan untuk mengukur motivasi belajar siswa adalah Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). Instrumen yang diolah sudah memenuhi uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Hasil uji signifikan regresi diperoleh nilai Fhitung = 50,963 > Ftabel = 3,92, artinya terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara dukungan teman sebaya terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Selanjutnya hasil nilai koefisien determinasi diperoleh dengan nilai R2 sebesar 0,300, artinya variabel dukungan teman sebaya dapat menjelaskan variabel motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran prakarya sebesar 30%, sedangkan 70% variabel motivasi belajar dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. Peran teman sebaya penting dalam mendukung motivasi belajar siswa. Karena dukungan teman dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dan semangat belajar siswa. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of peer support on student learning motivation in workshop subjects at 17 Jakarta Junior High School. This research uses associative quantitative methods. This study involved 121 respondents using simple random sampling technique. Data collection took place from January to May 2024. Data collection in this study used a questionnaire. The instrument used to measure peer support is the Perceived Friend/Peer Academic Support Scale (PFASS) and to measure student learning motivation is the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The processed instruments have met the validity test and reliability test. The data analysis technique uses simple linear regression test which is used to test the research hypothesis. The results of the regression significance test obtained the value of Fcount = 50.963 > Ftable = 3.92, meaning that there is a significant influence between peer support on student learning motivation. Furthermore, the results of the coefficient of determination obtained with the R 2 value of 0.300, meaning that the peer support variable can explain the student learning motivation variable in craft subjects by 30%, while 70% of the learning motivation variable can be explained by other variables not examined in this study. The role of peers is important in supporting student learning motivation. Because friend support can increase students' self-confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
