Abstract

Tujuan penelitiannya diantaranya untuk mengetahui kondisi work life balance, career development, dan employee engagement pada restoran Jepang, mengetahui pengaruh signifikan work life balance terhadap employee engagement, mengetahui pengaruh signifikan career development terhadap employee engagement, dan mengetahui pengaruh work life balance dan career development secara simultan terhadap employee engagement. Penelitian terlaksana di restoran Jepang pada PT X Indonesia dengan sampel sebanyak 104 responden. Data terkumpul dari kuesioner. Data diuji dengan analisis regresi linear berganda. Proses analisis data meliputi analisis deskriptif, uji instrumen, uji asumsi klasik, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan kondisi work life balance dan career development tergolong tinggi, sementara employee engagement tergolong sangat tinggi. Selain itu, hasil uji data menunjukkan employee engagement dipengaruhi work life balance secara positif dan signifikan, employee engagement dipengaruhi career development secara positif dan signifikan, serta employee engagement dipengaruhi work life balance dan career development secara simultan. Hasil tersebut berkaitan dengan social exchange theory. Implikasi dari penelitian ini diantaranya perusahaan dapat melanjutkan kebijakan yang mendukung keseimbangan pekerjaan dan kehidupan pribadi karyawan, mempertahankan kesesuaian karir melalui program pengembangan karir karyawan, dan mempertahankan kondisi keterikatan melalui program keterlibatan karyawan. Rekomendasi bagi penelitian selanjutnya adalah dapat melaksanakan penambahan atau penggantian variabel lainnya seperti budaya organisasi, kompensasi, kepuasan kerja, dan faktor lainnya yang mendukung employee engagement serta mengembangkan populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian yang lebih luas. ***** The purposes of the research include finding out the condition of work life balance, career development, and employee engagement in Japanese restaurants, knowing the significant influence of work life balance on employee engagement, knowing the significant influence of career development on employee engagement, and finding out the influence of work life balance and career development simultaneously on employee engagement. The research was carried out in a Japanese restaurant at PT X Indonesia with a sample of 104 respondents. Data was collected from questionnaires. The data were tested by multiple linear regression analysis. The data analysis process includes descriptive analysis, instrument tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis tests. The results of data processing showed that the conditions of work life balance and career development were relatively high, while employee engagement was classified as very high. In addition, the results of the data test showed that employee engagement was positively and significantly influenced by work-life balance, employee engagement was positively and significantly influenced by career development, and employee engagement was influenced by work-life balance and career development simultaneously. The results are related to social exchange theory. The implications of this study include that companies can continue policies that support the balance of work and personal life of employees, maintain career suitability through employee career development programs, and maintain attachment conditions through employee engagement programs. The recommendation for the next study is to be able to add or replace other variables such as organizational culture, compensation, job satisfaction, and other factors that support employee engagement and develop populations and samples in a wider study.
