Abstract

Kata Kunci: Gender Diversity, Financial Distress, Operating Capacity, Firm Size, Return on Assets (ROA), Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR), dan Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) ***** This study aims to determine the effect of Gender Diversity (GD) with proxy calculations of GD1 (Female CEO), GD2 (Female CFO), GD3 (Female Management Board), GD4 (Percentage of Female Management Board), and GD5 (Number of Female Management Board) as independent variables on Financial Distress (FD) as the dependent variable. Research population of manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the 2018-2022 period. The number of samples in this study was 29 companies with 5 years of observation so there were 145 total observations for analysis. This research uses Operating Capacity, Firm Size, Return on Assets (ROA), Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) as control variables. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling method. The data is sourced based on secondary data, namely annual reports published by each company. The method used in this research is Generalized Least Square (GLS) panel data regression and hypothesis testing using the t-test to test the regression coefficient with a significance level of 5%. The results of this study show that Gender Diversity (GD) with proxy calculations of GD1 (Female CEO), GD2 (Female CFO), GD3 (Female Management Board), GD4 (Percentage of Female Management Board), and GD5 (Number of Female Management Board) has a negative and significant on Financial Distress (FD). The results of this research are also in line with feminist theory which states that women tend to be more careful in making decisions within the company. Keywords: Gender Diversity, Financial Distress, Operating Capacity, Firm Size, Return on Assets (ROA), Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER)
