Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan peran orang tua dengan kemampuan membaca anak usia 5-6 tahun. Pentingnya peran orang tua dalam mengembangkan kemampuan anak khususnya kemampuan mebaca sebagai salah satu acuan untuk meneliti masalah tersebut. Metodologi penelitian digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Pengumpulan data menggunakan gform dengan skala likert sebagai acuan pengukurannya. Sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling dan didapat sebanyak 50 orang tua sebagai respondennya dari RW 004, RW 007 yang bertempat tinggal di Kelurahan Pondok Karya. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rhitung sebesar 0,493 pada taraf siginifikan 0.05 atau 5% sehingga, H0 ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima. Penerimaan hipotesis alternatif menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara peran orang tua dnegan kemampuan membaca anak usia 5-6 tahun. Peran oran tua memiliki hubungan sebesar 24% dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca anak usia 5-6 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran orang tua di RW 004, RW 007, dan RW 10 diKelurahan Pondok Karya berkontribusi sebanyak 24% dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca anak. Pada penelitian ini orang tua memahami pentingnya kemampuan membaca anak, namun kurangnya bahan ajar yang dimiliki menjadi salah satu yang menyebabkan kemampuan membaca anak berkurang. This study aims to investigate the relationship between parental roles and the reading abilities of 5-6 year-old children. The significance of parental involvement in developing children's reading skills served as a basis for exploring this issue. The research employed a quantitative methodology with a correlational approach. Data collection utilized Google Forms with Likert scales for measurement. The sample consisted of 50 parents selected through simple random sampling from households in RW 004, RW 007 in the Pondok Karya neighborhood. The results indicated a calculated correlation coefficient (r) of 0.493 at a significance level of 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. The acceptance of the alternative hypothesis suggests a positive relationship between parental roles and the reading abilities of 5-6 year-old children. Parental roles were found to contribute 24% to the development of children's reading abilities. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that parental roles in RW 004, RW 007, and RW 10 in the Pondok Karya neighborhood contribute 24% to the development of children's reading abilities. The study also highlighted that while parents understand the importance of their children's reading abilities, the lack of instructional materials is identified as one of the factors contributing to reduced reading abilities in children.
