Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital dan media sosial telah menciptakan peluang baru dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi dan pengembangan diri individu. Salah satu platform yang populer digunakan adalah YouTube, yang menyediakan berbagai konten, termasuk podcast. YouTube podcast Raditya Dika secara umum memiliki konten yang berkualitas dan mengedukasi para penonton. Penyebaran informasi melalui media online khususnya YouTube masih sangat efektif dan diterapkan secara luas di Indonesia sehingga terpaan pada media sosial YouTube diharapkan dapat meningkatkan sikap pengembangan diri. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teori new medium atau medium baru yang dikemukakan oleh Mark Poster, David Holmes, dan Pierre Levy. Teori ini mengatakan bahwa World Wide Web (www) sebagai lingkungan informasi yang terbuka, fleksibel, dan dinamis. Platform YouTube merupakan lingkungan informasi yang terbuka, fleksibel, dan dinamis sehingga memungkinkan para pengguna untuk menemukan cara baru memperoleh pengetahuan. Variabel independen penelitian ini adalah terpaan media dengan tiga dimensi (exposure, attention, exposure states) dan variabel dependen yaitu sikap dengan tiga dimensi (cognitive, affective, behavioral). Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma positivisme dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode survey kuesioner dengan google form yang disebarkan kepada responden. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penonton dan penyuka YouTube podcast Raditya Dika “Hidup Anda Tidak Menarik? Tonton Video Ini!” pada 28 Oktober 2023 yang berjumlah sekitar 15.000 dan menggunakan teknik penarikan sampel purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 100 berdasarkan rumus slovin. Metode analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan univariate dan bivariate dengan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terpaan media YouTube podcast Raditya Dika “Hidup Anda Tidak Menarik? Tonton Video Ini!” pada 28 Oktober 2023 berpengaruh terhadap sikap pengembangan diri melalui dimensi exposure dan exposure states yang memiliki nilai mean tertinggi, yang berarti dimensi exposure dan exposure states memiliki pengaruh paling besar terpaan media terhadap sikap. Selanjutnya pada variabel sikap ditemukan hasil bahwa dimensi cognitive memiliki nilai mean tertinggi. Disimpulkan berdasarkan data yang telah di uji mendapatkan hasil penelitian yang terbukti berdistribusi dengan normal dan linear. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terpaan media YouTube podcast Raditya Dika “Hidup Anda Tidak Menarik? Tonton Video Ini!” pada 28 Oktober 2023 berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap sikap pengembangan diri. Maka, berdasarkan uji hipotesis dapat dinyatakan bahwa H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang berarti terdapat pengaruh antara terpaan media dan sikap pengembangan diri. ***** The development of digital technology and social media has created new opportunities to fulfill individuals' information and self-development needs. One popular platform used is YouTube, which provides a variety of content, including podcasts. Raditya Dika's YouTube podcasts generally have quality content and educate the audience. The dissemination of information through online media, especially YouTube, is still very effective and widely applied in Indonesia so that exposure to YouTube social media is expected to increase self-development attitudes. The theory used in this research is the new medium theory proposed by Mark Poster, David Holmes, and Pierre Levy. This theory states that the World Wide Web (www) is an open, flexible, and dynamic information environment. The YouTube platform is an open, flexible, and dynamic information environment that allows users to find new ways to acquire knowledge. The independent variable of this study is media exposure with three dimensions (exposure, attention, exposure states) and the dependent variable is attitude with three dimensions (cognitive, affective, behavioral). This research uses a positivism paradigm with a quantitative approach. The data collection method was carried out using a questionnaire survey method using a Google form which was distributed to respondents. The population used in this research were viewers and fans of Raditya Dika's YouTube podcast "Hidup Anda Tidak Menarik? Tonton Video Ini!” on October 28 2023, which amounted to around 15,000 and using a purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 100 based on the Slovin formula. The data analysis method in this research uses univariate and bivariate with simple linear regression analysis.. The results showed that media exposure to Raditya Dika's YouTube podcast “Hidup Anda Tidak Menarik? Tonton Video Ini!” on October 28, 2023 affects the attitude of self-development through the dimensions of exposure and exposure states which have the highest mean value, which means that the dimensions of exposure and exposure states have the greatest influence on media exposure on attitudes. Furthermore, in the attitude variable, it was found that the cognitive dimension had the highest mean value. It is concluded that based on the data that has been tested, the research results are proven to be normally and linearly distributed. The results showed that the media exposure of Raditya Dika's YouTube podcast “Hidup Anda Tidak Menarik? Tonton Video Ini!” on October 28, 2023 has a positive and significant effect on self-development attitudes. So, based on hypothesis testing, it can be stated that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that there is an influence between media exposure and self-development attitudes.
