Abstract

ABSTRAK Fitria Rahmaini, 2025. ”Analisis Budaya Visual Ilustrasi Karakter dalam Sampul Buku Cerita Bergambar Serial Anak “Aku Taat Aturan”. Skripsi Pengkajian Seni Rupa, Program Studi Pendidikan Seni Rupa, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Januari. Ilustrasi pada sampul buku mempunyai peranan penting sebagai media menyampaikan pesan mengenai sikap karakter yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari anak. Budaya visual dalam era kontemporer tercermin dari sampul buku yang menjadi menarik minat baca anak-anak sekaligus menanamkan karakter kedisiplinan. Urgensi dari penelitian ini ingin menganalisis segi tampilan visual yang terdapat pada ilustrasi sampul buku cerita bergambar anak ”Aku Taat Aturan”. Objek penelitian terdiri dari empat sampul buku, yaitu Aku Bisa Bertanggung Jawab, Aku Bisa Menghargai Teman, Aku Bisa Minta Izin, dan Aku Senang Antre. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, seperti pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan ilustrator dan penulis buku. pendekatan budaya visual melalui teknik analisis tata visual oleh Kress van Leeuwen. Aspek-aspek analisisnya adalah: struktur representasi, sistem interaksi, dan komposisi pada ilustrasi sampul buku gambar anak serial “Aku Taat Aturan”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ilustrasi pada sampul buku anak tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penghias atau daya tarik visual, tetapi juga menjadi menjadi media menyampaikan pesan moral dalam kehidupan sehari-hari pada anakanak. Simpulan penelitian ini struktur representasi terdiri dari representasi dan bentuk narasi. Sistem interaksi dipengaruhi tiga faktor: arah tatapan mata, keutuhan postur subjek, dan sudut pengambilan gambar. Komposisi menempatkan nilai informasi, penonjolan, dan pembingkaian. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi bagi para peneliti, kampus, pembaca, dan ilustrator ingin mengembangkan budaya visual yang mendukung karakter kedisplinan anak. Illustrations on book covers play an important role as a medium to convey messages about character attitudes related to children's daily lives. Visual culture in the contemporary era is reflected in book covers that attract children's interest in reading while instilling a disciplined character. The urgency of this study is to analyze the visual appearance aspect contained in the cover illustration of the children's picture book series "Aku Taat Aturan" (I Obey the Rules). The research objects consist of four book covers, namely Aku Bisa Bertanggungjawab (I Can Be Responsible), Aku Bisa Menghargai Teman (I Can Respect Friends), Aku Bisa Minta Izin (I Can Ask for Permission), and Aku Senang Antre (I Enjoy Queuing). The research method used is descriptive qualitative, such as data collection through observation and interviews with illustrators and book authors. Visual culture approach through visual layout analysis techniques by Kress van Leeuwen. The aspects of the analysis are: representation structure, interaction system, and composition in the cover illustration of the children's picture book series "Aku Taat Aturan". The results of the study indicate that illustrations on children's book covers not only function as decoration or visual appeal, but also become a medium for conveying moral messages in everyday life to children. The conclusion of this study is that the representation structure consists of representation and narrative form. The interaction system is influenced by three factors: the direction of gaze, the integrity of the subject's posture, and the angle of the shot. The composition places the value of information, prominence, and framing. This study is expected to be a reference for researchers, campuses, readers, and illustrators who want to develop a visual culture that supports children's disciplined character.
