Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bahwa penggunaan aplikasi ChatGPT di perkuliahan melahirkan persoalan plagiarisme di kalangan mahasiswa dari bidang pengetahuan yang berbeda. Hal ini sehubungan dengan esensi dari pendidikan yaitu kemampuan bernalar. Pandangan Action Network Theory (ANT) berperan penting bahwa plagiarisme melalui aplikasi ChatGPT didasari oleh entitas yang saling berhubungan dan memiliki peran terhadap isu ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Penelitian dilakukan di Universitas Negeri Jakarta dalam jangka waktu 8 bulan yaitu bulan April hingga Desember 2024. Subjek penelitian meliputi 5 mahasiswa FMIPA dan 5 mahasiswa FISH selaku pengguna aktif dari aplikasi ChatGPT. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan fenomena penggunaan aplikasi ChatGPT telah masif di lingkup kampus, terutama pada mahasiswa FMIPA dan FISH Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Meskipun aplikasi ChatGPT memberikan kemudahan dalam menyajikan informasi, justru ini mengantarkan pada persoalan plagiarisme. Jika sebelumnya plagiarisme dilakukan secara konvensional, kini kehadiran AI mampu memberikan dan menggabungkan informasi dari berbagai sumber secara instan. Kondisi tersebut menggambarkan bahwa teknologi telah memasuki dan berdampak bagi kehidupan manusia. Pada konteks ini, penggunaan aplikasi ChatGPT yang tidak tepat menjadi tantangan bagi integritas akademik. Sistem kerja aplikasi ChatGPT dan informasi yang disajikan memengaruhi mahasiswa FMIPA dan FISH dalam menggunakan AI di perkuliahan, khususnya untuk tugas dan materi yang didapatkan. Oleh karena itu, melalui Action-Network Theory (ANT) bahwa aktor yang terlibat pada persoalan ini tidak hanya meliputi mahasiswa dan aplikasi ChatGPT, tetapi juga mencakup dosen, perguruan tinggi, gaya hidup digital, dan peraturan terkait etika akademik. Kata Kunci: Artificial Intelligence, Aplikasi ChatGPT, Isu Plagiarisme, Action-Network Theory. ***** The objective of this research is to understand how the integration of ChatGPT in academic lectures can lead to instances of plagiarism among students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. This assertion pertains to the fundamental nature of education, which is the capacity for rational thought and analysis. The perspective of Action-Network Theory (ANT) is a critical factor in understanding the role of plagiarism through the ChatGPT application. This application is based on interconnected entities that play a significant role in this issue. The present research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method. The research was conducted at Universitas Negeri Jakarta for a period of 8 months, from April to December of 2024. The research subjects included 5 FMIPA students and 5 FISH students who actively used the ChatGPT application. The findings of the research indicate that the utilization of the ChatGPT application has become pervasive on campus, particularly among students from FMIPA and FISH at Jakarta State University. While the ChatGPT application offers a convenient method of presenting information, it has also given rise to concerns regarding plagiarism. Conventional plagiarism has been augmented by the advent of artificial intelligence (AI), which facilitates the instantaneous combination of information from diverse sources. This phenomenon underscores the profound impact of technological advancement on human existence and society. In this context, the improper usage of the ChatGPT application poses a significant challenge to academic integrity. The operational functionality of the ChatGPT application, in conjunction with the information provided, has a significant impact on FMIPA and FISH students, particularly in terms of their utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic settings, such as lectures, assignments, and materials obtained. Accordingly, employing Action-Network Theory (ANT), the actors implicated in this matter encompass not solely students and the ChatGPT application, but also include lecturers, universities, digital lifestyles, and regulations pertaining to academic ethics.
