Abstract
Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing, di Kelas V-A SDN Duren Sawit 07. Hasil observasi awal di kelas menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran yang dilakukan masih bersifat konvensional dan berpusat pada guru, yang mengakibatkan rendahnya tingkat partisipasi aktif siswa selama pembelajaran. Siswa cenderung hanya fokus membaca dan menyalin dari papan tulis, sehingga menimbulkan kebosanan dan perilaku pasif selama pembelajaran. Hal ini juga berdampak pada tidak optimalnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang sedang disampaikan. Penelitian tindakan ini menggunakan tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi, yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tiga pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam partisipasi aktif siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I, 68% siswa menunjukkan partisipasi aktif, namun belum mencapai target keberhasilan yang ditetapkan sehingga penelitian harus diperbaiki dan dilanjutkan pada siklus II. Pada siklus II, angka ini meningkat 35,29%, dengan 92% siswa mendapat nilai ≥91, melampaui target tingkat keberhasilan yang ditetapkan yaitu 85%. Pada siklus II, 7,2% siswa berada pada kategori “cukup”, 82,1% ‘aktif’, dan 10,7% “sangat aktif”. Berdasarkan analisis data dari kedua siklus, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing secara signifikan meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS. Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Kooperatif, Snowball Throwing, Partisipasi Aktif, Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) ***** ABSTRACT This study aims to increase students' active participation in learning Social Sciences (IPS) through the application of snowball throwing type cooperative learning model, in Class V-A SDN Duren Sawit 07. The results of initial observations in the classroom show that the learning is still conventional and teacher-centered, which results in low levels of active participation of students during learning. Students tend to only focus on reading and copying from the blackboard, resulting in boredom and passive behavior during learning. This also has an impact on students' understanding of the material being presented. This action research used four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection, which were conducted in two cycles, each consisting of three meetings. The results showed a significant increase in students' active participation from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, 68% of students showed active participation, but had not reached the set success target so the research had to be improved and continued in cycle II. In cycle II, this figure increased by 35.29%, with 92% of students scoring ≥91, surpassing the set success rate target of 85%. In cycle II, 7.2% of students were in the ‘moderate’ category, 82.1% were ‘active’, and 10.7% were ‘very active’. Based on the data analysis from both cycles, it can be concluded that the application of snowball throwing type cooperative learning model significantly increased students' active participation in social studies learning.
