Abstract

Rendahnya hasil atau pencapaian belajar peserta didik ketika mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di kelas VIII-D SMP Negeri 14 Jakarta menjadi permasalahan yang memerlukan perhatian khusus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penerapan model pembelajaran Case Based Learning (CBL) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS. Menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, serta refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ialah 35 peserta didik kelas VIII-D yang memiliki nilai terendah dari seluruh kelas. Hasil yang ditunjukan dari penelitian, penerapan model CBL mampu meningkatkan hasil dari pembelajaran. Peningkatan terjadi pada siklus 2 dengan selisih nilai 5, perubahan ini membutuhkan modifikasi pembelajaran dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2 berupa mengubah kegiatan dari peserta didik presentasi menggunakan Power Point menjadi bermain peran. Sehingga perubahan ini menyebabkan peningkatkan antusiasme keterlibatan peserta didik dalam diskusi kelas. Ini menunjukkan kalau peserta didik sudah paham dan beradaptasi dengan model CBL, serta mendapat dorongan yang lebih baik dari guru. Dengan data tersebut sudah terbukti kalau CBL bisa membuat hasil dari pembelajaran meningkat dan dijadikan alternatif model pengajaran untuk mendorong partisipasi aktif serta pemahaman mendalam terhadap materi pelajaran. ***** The low learning outcomes or achievements of students in Social Studies (IPS) in class VIII-D of SMP Negeri 14 Jakarta is a problem that requires special attention. This study aims to determine the extent to which the application of the Case Based Learning (CBL) learning model can improve student achievement in Social Studies. Using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects in the study were 35 students in class VIII-D who had the lowest scores from all classes. The results shown from the study, the application of the CBL model was able to improve learning outcomes. The improvement occurred in cycle 2 with a difference of 5 points, this change required modification of learning from cycle 1 to cycle 2 in the form of changing the activity from student presentations using PowerPoint to role-playing. So this change led to an increase in student enthusiasm for involvement in class discussions. This shows that students have understood and adapted to the CBL model, and received better encouragement from the teacher. With these data, it has been proven that CBL can improve learning outcomes and be used as an alternative teaching model to encourage active participation and in-depth understanding of the subject matter.
