Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 18 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dan desain Post-test Only Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS dan kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Direct Instruction, masing-masing berjumlah 31 peserta didik. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik non probability sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes uraian dan pilihan ganda yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Uji persyaratan data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas dan homogenitas, serta uji hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan independent sample t-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai nilai sig (2-tailed) < 0,05 (0,002 < 0,05), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan model pembelajaran TPS terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. ***** This research aims to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in class VIII Social Sciences (IPS) learning at SMP Negeri 18 Jakarta. This research uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods and a Post-test Only Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII-A as an experimental class using the TPS learning model and class VIII-B as a control class using the Direct Instruction learning model, each with 31 students. The sampling technique was carried out using a non-probability sampling technique. The data collection instrument is a description and multiple choice test whose validity and reliability have been tested. Testing data requirements was carried out through normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing was carried out using the independent sample t-test. The results of the analysis show that the sig (2-tailed) value is <0.05 (0.002 <0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence from the use of the TPS learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in social studies learning.
