Abstract
***** This study aims to determine the effect of resilience on psychological preparedness in facing flood victims in Jakarta. This is a non-experimental quantitative study involving 102 flood victims in Jakarta. The measuring instrument used in this study is the Psychological Preparedness for Disaster Threat Scale (PPDTS) from Zulch and the Resilience Scale (RS) developed by Wagnild & Young. Based on data from 102 research participants, it is known that 20.6% have a high level of psychological preparedness for disasters, 63.7% are classified as moderate, and 15.7% are classified as low. The results of the study showed that p < 0.001 (p < 0.05); the findings answered the research hypothesis, which stated that there is an influence between resilience and psychological preparedness in facing disasters. Psychological preparedness for disasters is influenced by resilience by 42%, while the other 58% is influenced by other factors. The higher the level of individual resilience, the higher the level of psychological preparedness for disasters. Conversely, the lower the level of individual resilience, the lower the level of psychological preparedness for disasters.
