Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistem perekrutan dan seleksi crew kapal di PT XYZ, dengan fokus pada tiga aspek utama: sistem perekrutan yang diterapkan, kriteria dan persyaratan seleksi, serta evaluasi terhadap tantangan dalam proses perekrutan tenaga kerja pelayaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap empat informan, observasi lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem perekrutan di PT XYZ masih bersifat konvensional dan belum terstruktur secara formal. Proses rekrutmen umumnya mengandalkan rekomendasi internal, tanpa adanya Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP). Kriteria seleksi lebih menekankan pada kelengkapan dokumen administratif, sementara aspek teknis dan kesiapan mental belum menjadi pertimbangan utama. Evaluasi terhadap crew juga belum dilakukan secara sistematis, melainkan hanya ketika terjadi permasalahan di lapangan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penyusunan SOP, pelatihan prapenempatan, pemanfaatan teknologi digital, serta kerja sama dengan lembaga pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan efisiensi perekrutan tenaga kerja pelayaran. ***** This study aims to analyze the recruitment and selection system for ship crew at PT XYZ, focusing on three main aspects: the applied recruitment system, selection criteria and requirements, and an evaluation of challenges in the recruitment process for shipping workers. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with four informants, field observations, and documentation. The results show that the recruitment system at PT XYZ is still conventional and not formally structured. The recruitment process generally relies on internal recommendations, without any Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Selection criteria emphasize the completeness of administrative documents, while technical aspects and mental readiness are not yet primary considerations. Crew evaluations have also not been conducted systematically, but only when problems arise in the field. This study recommends the development of SOPs, pre-placement training, the use of digital technology, and collaboration with training institutions to improve the quality and efficiency of shipping worker recruitment.
