Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas V di SD Negeri 01 Rawabuntu. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 106 siswa, yang dipilih melalui teknik total sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket motivasi belajar dan dokumentasi nilai prestasi belajar IPS. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi belajar dan prestasi belajar IPS dengan nilai koefisien korelasi Pearson sebesar 0,595 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,01). Uji determinasi menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar memberikan kontribusi sebesar 35,4% terhadap variasi prestasi belajar IPS siswa. Temuan ini mendukung teori bahwa motivasi belajar, baik intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik, berperan penting dalam pencapaian hasil belajar yang optimal. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa perlu menjadi perhatian dalam proses pembelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar. ***** This study aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation and social studies (IPS) academic achievement among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 01 Rawabuntu. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The sample consisted of 106 students selected through a census technique. The instruments used were a learning motivation questionnaire and a test on economic activities in the community as part of the IPS subject. The analysis results showed a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and IPS academic achievement, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.595 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.01). The coefficient of determination indicated that learning motivation contributed 35.4% to the variance in students’ IPS academic achievement. These findings support the theory that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation play an important role in achieving optimal learning outcomes. Therefore, increasing students' learning motivation should be a focus in the social studies learning process at the elementary school level.
