Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siswa melalui model pembelajaran CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition). Pendekatan CIRC adalah pendekatan yang berlandaskan pada pendekatan kooperatif dan literasi terpadu. Pendekatan ini menekankan pada kerja sama antar siswa dalam kelompok heterogen, integrasi keterampilan membaca dan menulis, serta tanggung jawab individu dan kelompok dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SDN Rawa Badak Utara yang terdiri dari 14 siswa perempuan dan 18 siswa laki-laki. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes membaca pemahaman yang diberikan pada akhir setiap siklus, pemantauan tindakan guru dan siswa, serta catatan lapangan. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk mengevaluasi peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa dan respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan model CIRC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan CIRC mampu meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa pada siklus I memperoleh ketuntasan sebesar 59% lalu meningkat sebesar 28% pada siklus II yaitu menjadi 87%. Aktivitas guru dan siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Dengan demikian penerapan pendekatan CIRC dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman kelas III SDN Rawa Badak Utara 03. Kata Kunci: CIRC, membaca pemahaman, pembelajaran kooperatif, literasi terpadu, siswa sekolah dasar ***** This study aims to improve students' reading comprehension skills through the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model. The CIRC approach is based on cooperative learning and integrated literacy, emphasizing collaboration among students in heterogeneous groups, the integration of reading and writing skills, and shared responsibility both individually and in groups during the learning process. This research used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were third-grade students of SDN Rawa Badak Utara, consisting of 14 female and 18 male students. Data were collected through reading comprehension tests administered at the end of each cycle, teacher and student activity observations, and field notes. Data analysis was conducted both qualitatively and quantitatively to evaluate the improvement in students' reading comprehension skills and their responses to learning using the CIRC model. The results showed that the CIRC approach effectively improved students' reading comprehension skills, with mastery learning increasing from 59% in the first cycle to 87% in the second cycle, a gain of 28%. Teacher and student activities also improved from cycle I to cycle II. Therefore, the implementation of the CIRC approach can enhance reading comprehension skills among third-grade students at SDN Rawa Badak Utara 03.
