Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi yang digunakan guru dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa inggris di SLB Pangudi Luhur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan model analisis Miles dan Huberman dengan alur reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan data. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru bahasa inggris dan peserta didik tunarungu kelas XII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang diterapkan bagi peserta didik tunarungu meliputi strategi kontekstual dan strategi berdiferensiasi. Dalam pelaksanaannya, guru menggunakan beberapa metode pembelajaran, yaitu Metode Maternal Reflektif (MMR), metode drill, dan metode Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). Media pembelajaran yang digunakan meliputi laptop, LCD proyektor, dan papan tulis, serta media digital seperti Wordwall, Canva, YouTube, dan Google Drive. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi strategi pembelajaran terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu faktor internal, yang mencakup kemampuan, gaya belajar, dan kondisi emosional peserta didik, serta faktor eksternal, yang mencakup kesiapan guru, penggunaan media pembelajaran, dan dukungan lingkungan seperti keterlibatan orang tua dan teman sebaya. ***** This study aims to describe the strategies used by the teacher in the English language teaching process at SLB Pangudi Luhur. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with the Miles and Huberman model of analysis, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study are the English teacher and 12th-grade students with hearing impairments. The findings indicate that the English learning strategies implemented for students with hearing impairments include contextual strategies and differentiated strategies. In practice, the teacher applies several instructional methods, namely the Maternal Reflective Method (MMR), the drill method, and the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) method. The instructional media used consist of laptops, LCD projectors, and whiteboards, as well as digital tools such as Wordwall, Canva, YouTube, and Google Drive. The factors influencing the learning strategies are categorized into two types: internal and external. Internal factors include students’ abilities, learning styles, and emotional conditions. External factors include teacher preparedness, the use of instructional media, and environmental support such as the involvement of parents and peers.
