Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode outdoor learning terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik kelas X pada submateri proses pembentukan dan persebaran jenis tanah di SMAN 48 Jakarta. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar geografi akibat pembelajaran yang masih bersifat konvensional sehingga peserta didik kurang aktif dan kesulitan mengaitkan konsep dengan kondisi nyata. Berdasarkan teori konstruktivisme, pembelajaran akan lebih bermakna apabila peserta didik terlibat langsung dalam pengalaman belajar melalui interaksi dengan lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain one-group pretest–posttest. Sampel penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X-3 yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan setelah penerapan metode outdoor learning. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan lingkungan sebagai sumber belajar mampu membantu peserta didik memahami konsep proses pembentukan dan persebaran jenis tanah secara lebih konkret dan kontekstual. Dengan demikian, metode outdoor learning efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada pembelajaran geografi. Kata kunci: outdoor learning, hasil belajar, geografi, dan jenis tanah ***** This study aims to find out the effect of the outdoor learning method on improving the cognitive learning outcomes of Grade X students on the topic of soil formation processes and the distribution of soil types at SMAN 48 Jakarta. This research is based on the problem of low geography learning outcomes caused by learning activities that are still dominated by conventional methods. As a result, students tend to be less active and have difficulty connecting theoretical concepts with real conditions around them. According to constructivist theory, learning becomes more meaningful when students are directly involved in learning experiences and interact with their environment. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of students from class X-3, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the outdoor learning method. This indicates that using the environment as a learning resource helps students understand the process of soil formation and soil distribution more clearly and contextually. Therefore, the outdoor learning method is effective in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes in geography. Keywords: outdoor learning, learning outcomes, geography, and soil types
