Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa melalui model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Paired Storytelling pada muatan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di kelas IV-C SDN Kembangan Utara 04 Jakarta Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang terdiri atas dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa, terdiri atas 17 siswa laki-laki dan 15 siswa perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, tes praktik berbicara, dan dokumentasi. Model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Paired Storytelling dilaksanakan melalui serangkaian kegiatan pembelajaran yang berpedoman pada sintaks dengan melibatkan siswa secara aktif dan berkelompok, sehingga mendorong partisipasi aktif, pemikiran kritis, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Cooperative Learning tipe Paired Storytelling mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa secara signifikan. Persentase ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 31% pada pra siklus menjadi 62% pada akhir siklus I, dan mencapai 100% pada akhir siklus II. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Paired Storytelling terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Paired Storytelling secara lebih luas dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia untuk menciptakan proses pembelajaran yang bermakna, kontekstual, dan menyenagkan bagi siswa. ***** This study aims to improve students’ speaking skills through the Cooperative Learning model of the Paired Storytelling type in Indonesian language learning for Grade IV-C students at SDN Kembangan Utara 04, West Jakarta. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The research subjects were 32 students, comprising 17 male students and 15 female students. Data were collected through observation, speaking performance tests, and documentation. The Cooperative Learning model of the Paired Storytelling type was implemented through a series of learning activities guided by its instructional syntax, actively engaging students in collaborative work to encourage active participation, critical thinking, and reflection. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model of the Paired Storytelling type significantly improved students’ speaking skills. The percentage of learning mastery increased from 31% in the pre-cycle stage to 62% at the end of Cycle I, and reached 100% at the end of Cycle II. Therefore, the Cooperative Learning model of the Paired Storytelling type is proven to be effective in improving elementary school students’ speaking skills. This study recommends the broader use of the Cooperative Learning model of the Paired Storytelling type in Indonesian language learning to create a meaningful, contextual, and enjoyable learning process for students.
