Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam dan memahami kontribusi volunteer dalam program pengembangan motorik atlet disabilitas intelektual di Special Olympics Indonesia (SOINA) DKI Jakarta. Secara spesifik, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana partisipasi volunteer memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan motorik kasar (seperti berlari, melompat, dan koordinasi tubuh) dan motorik halus (seperti memegang objek dan gerakan presisi) atlet, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi efektivitas peran mereka, seperti pelatihan, motivasi intrinsik, dan interaksi sosial. Menggunakan metode studi kasus sebagai strategi penelitian untuk menyelidiki masalah secara mendalam dalam konteks spesifik SOINA DKI Jakarta. Penelitian ini melibatkan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan volunteer, atlet dan pelatih, observasi partisipan selama sesi latihan serta dokumentasi seperti foto dan laporan program. Untuk memastikan keabsahan dan keandalan data, dilakukan triangulasi metode dengan membandingkan dan mengecek ulang data dari berbagai sumber tersebut. Temuan utama mengungkapkan empat peran utama volunteer yang saling terkait yaitu sebagai guru yang memberikan instruksi teknis, pendamping yang mendukung secara personal, fasilitator sosial yang membangun interaksi kelompok, fasilitator emosional yang memberikan dukungan psikologis, yang menjadi contoh inspiratif. Peran-peran ini berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan motorik atlet dalam lingkungan yang inklusif, adaptif, dan bebas tekanan, sehingga mendorong partisipasi aktif dan pengembangan potensi atlet disabilitas intelektual. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pengembangan program olahraga inklusif dan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan peran volunteer di masa depan. ***** This study aims to deeply analyze and understand the contribution of volunteers in the motor skill development program for athletes with intellectual disabilities at Special Olympics Indonesia (SOINA) DKI Jakarta. Specifically, it explores how volunteer participation significantly impacts the improvement of athletes' gross motor skills (such as running, jumping, and body coordination) and fine motor skills (such as holding objects and precise movements), while identifying factors influencing their role effectiveness, such as training, intrinsic motivation, and social interactions. Employing a case study method as a research strategy to investigate the issue in depth within the specific context of SOINA DKI Jakarta. The study involves data collection through in-depth interviews with volunteers, athletes, and coaches, participant observations during training sessions and documentation such as photos and program reports. To ensure data validity and reliability, method triangulation was performed by comparing and rechecking data from these various sources. Key findings reveal five interconnected main roles of volunteers as teachers providing technical instructions, companions offering personal support, social facilitators building group interactions, emotional facilitators delivering psychological support, and role models serving as inspirational examples. These roles significantly contribute to enhancing athletes' motor abilities in an inclusive, adaptive, and pressure-free environment, thereby encouraging active participation and the development of potential in athletes with intellectual disabilities. This research provides valuable insights for the development of inclusive sports programs and recommendations for enhancing volunteer roles in the future.
