Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode estafet writing berbantuan media kartu bergambar terhadap kemampuan menulis puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain control group design. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. Terdapat dua kelas yang dijadikan sampel, yaitu kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol. Kedua kelas diberikan pre-test dan post-test untuk mengetahui hasil penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji normalitas pada kelas eksperimen, diperoleh nilai signifikansi dari hasil pre-test sebesar 0,070 dan post-test sebesar 0,092. Taraf signifikansi >0,05 maka data dinyatakan berdistribusi normal. Berdasarkan hasil uji homogenitas, diperoleh nilai signifikan sebesar 0,073 dengan taraf signifikansi >0,05 maka dinyatakan data bersifat homogen. Hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa mean -18,492, dengan t hitung sebesar -24,124 dengan taraf signifikansi <0,05. Sehingga hipotesis diterima. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh positif metode estafet writing berbantuan media kartu bergambar terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. Metode estafet writing dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas sehingga membantu guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran karena dapat mempermudah dalam mengembangkan ide menjadi kreatif dan bervariasi. Kata Kunci : pengaruh metode estafet writing, kemampuan menulis, puisi. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of the estafet writing method assisted by picture card media on the poetry writing skills of eight grade students at SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. This research uses an experimental metode with a control group design. The data sources in this research were eight grade students of SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. There are two classes used as samples, class VIII-A as the experimental class and class VIII-B as the control class. Both classes were given a pre-test and post-test to determine the research results. Based on the results of the normality test in experimental class, the significance value of the pre-test results was 0,070 and the post-test was 0,092. Since the significance level (Sig) > 0,05 the data were declared normally distributed. The results of Levene's test for homogeneity showed a significance value 0,073, which was > 0,05 (Sig > 0,05). Indicating that the data were homogeneous. The results of the hypothesis test using a paired sample t-test, showed a mean difference of -18.942 and a t-value of -24.124 with a significance level less than 0,05 (Sig < 0,05), thus the hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that using the estafet writing method assisted by picture card media has a significant positive effect on the poetry writing skills of eight grade students at SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. The estafet writing method can be applied in classroom learning to assist teachers and students in the learning process, as it facilitates the development of ideas in more creative and varied ideas.
