Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan dalam membaca kalimat sederhana, kata, dan suku kata yang didalamnya terdapat huruf /b/ dan /d/. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah kedua siswa hambatan intelektual ringan kelas VI SDN Kramat Jati 25 Pagi. Metode yang digunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis & Mc. Taggart. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan observasi menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa hambatan intelektual ringan mengalami peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan dalam membaca kalimat sederhana, kata, dan suku kata yang didalamnya terdapat huruf /b/ dan /d. Peningkatan dapat dilihat dari nilai hasil kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa sebelum diberikan tindakan yaitu 46 dan 50, kemudian setelah diberikan tindakan pada siklus I nilai masing-masing siswa 63 dan 70, dan pada siklus II kemampuan kedua siswa semakin meningkat dengan nilai 83 dan 91, nilai tersebut sudah sesuai dengan Kriteria Ketuntasan Maksimum (KKM) yang ditetapkan sebesar 75. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa metode SAS mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan bagi siswa hambatan intelektual ringan.*****This study aims to improve early reading skills in reading simple sentences, words, and syllables containing the letters /b/ and /d/. The subjects of this study were two students with mild intellectual disabilities in grade VI at SDN Kramat Jati 25 Pagi. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a model developed by Kemmis & Mc. Taggart. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests and observations using qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis. The results showed that students with mild intellectual disabilities experienced an increase in their initial reading skills in reading simple sentences, words, and syllables containing the letters /b/ and /d/. The improvement can be seen from the students' initial reading ability scores before the intervention, which were 46 and 50, then after the intervention in cycle I, the scores were 63 and 70, respectively, and in cycle II, the abilities of both students further improved with scores of 83 and 91, which were in accordance with the Maximum Completion Criteria (KKM) set at 75. This shows that the SAS method is capable of improving the early reading skills of students with mild intellectual disabilities.
