Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan materi ajar menulis teks deskripsi berbasis Genre Based Approach (GBA) yang diperkaya elemen hypermedia untuk siswa kelas VII SMP/MTs. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik kelas VII MTsN 20 Jakarta mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis teks deskripsi, serta materi ajar yang digunakan masih didominasi bahan cetak, kurang interaktif, dan belum mendukung tahapan menulis secara sistematis sesuai tuntutan Kurikulum Merdeka. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa materi ajar digital interaktif yang mengintegrasikan tahapan GBA yaitu Building Knowledge of the Field, Modelling of the Text, Joint Construction of the Text, dan Independent Construction of the Text. Kelayakan produk divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan media. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa materi ajar memperoleh skor 4,95 dari pakar materi dan 5,00 dari pakar media dengan kategori sangat baik. Implementasi melalui desain one group pretest posttest menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan menulis peserta didik dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,48 dan 0,51 yang termasuk kategori sedang. Hasil posttest menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan terutama pada aspek isi dan kosakata. Dengan demikian, materi ajar menulis teks deskripsi berbasis GBA dengan hypermedia dinyatakan layak dan efektif serta berpotensi menjadi alternatif materi ajar dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi di SMP/ MTs. Kata Kunci: Materi Ajar, Teks Deskripsi, Genre Based Approach, Hypermedia ***** This This study aims to develop hypermedia-enriched teaching materials for writing descriptive texts based on a Genre-Based Approach (GBA) for seventh grade junior high school (SMP/MTs) students and to examine their feasibility and effectiveness. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The needs analysis revealed that students experienced difficulties in writing descriptive texts, while the existing teaching materials were predominantly print-based, less interactive, and had not systematically supported the stages of writing in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. The developed product is an interactive digital teaching material integrating the stages of GBA, namely Building Knowledge of the Field, Modelling of the Text, Joint Construction of the Text, and Independent Construction of the Text. The feasibility of the product was validated by content and media experts. The validation results indicated that the teaching materials obtained a score of 4.95 from content experts and 5.00 from media experts, both categorized as very good. The implementation using a one-group pretest–posttest design showed an improvement in students’ writing skills, with N-gain scores of 0.48 and 0.51, which fall into the moderate category. The posttest results demonstrated significant improvement, particularly in content and vocabulary aspects. Therefore, the hypermedia-based teaching materials using a Genre-Based Approach are feasible and effective and have the potential to serve as an innovative alternative for teaching descriptive writing in junior high schools.
