Abstract

Remaja akhir berada pada fase penting pembentukan self-esteem dan rentan terhadap pengaruh sosial, termasuk keterlibatan dengan idola K-pop serta persepsi terhadap body image. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan celebrity worship dan body image terhadap self-esteem pada remaja akhir penggemar K-pop kelas XII di SMK Negeri 44 Jakarta. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional terhadap 138 murid. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS), MBRSQ-AS, dan Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa celebrity worship tidak memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan self-esteem (t = −0,964; p > 0,05), sedangkan body image memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan (t = 4,746; p < 0,05). Intense-personal merupakan aspek tertinggi dari celebrity worship yang menunjukkan adanya keterikatan emosional terhadap idola, sedangkan aspek tertinggi body image adalah orientasi penampilan mencerminkan usaha merawat penampilan, dan aspek tertinggi dari self-esteem adalah penghormatan diri menunjukkan bahwa diri mereka layak dihargai. Secara simultan, celebrity worship dan body image berhubungan signifikan dengan self-esteem dengan kontribusi sebesar 14,4%. Body image merupakan faktor yang lebih dominan dalam pembentukan self-esteem remaja akhir. Implikasi penelitian bagi guru BK adalah perlunya layanan konseling yang berfokus pada penguatan penerimaan diri, pengembangan self-esteem yang sehat, serta literasi media.***** Late adolescence is a critical period for self-esteem development and is vulnerable to social influences, including engagement with K-pop idols and body image perceptions. This study examined the relationship between celebrity worship and body image with self-esteem among twelfth-grade late adolescent K-pop fans at SMK Negeri 44 Jakarta. A quantitative correlational design was employed with 138 students. Data were collected using the Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS), the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire–Appearance Scales (MBRSQ-AS), and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that celebrity worship was not significantly associated with self-esteem (t = −0.964, p > .05), whereas body image was positively and significantly related to self-esteem (t = 4.746, p < .05). The dominant dimension of celebrity worship was intense-personal, reflecting emotional attachment to idols. Appearance orientation was the highest aspect of body image, indicating efforts to maintain physical appearance. Self-respect emerged as the highest aspect of self-esteem, suggesting that individuals perceive themselves as worthy of respect. Simultaneously, celebrity worship and body image were significantly related to self-esteem, accounting for 14.4% of the variance, with body image as the more dominant predictor. These findings highlight the importance of guidance and counseling services focusing on self-acceptance, healthy self-esteem development, and media literacy.
