Abstract

Peran domestik merupakan pekerjaan atau aktivitas yang berhubungan dengan rumah tangga atau wilayah domestik. Peran domestik lekat dengan Perempuan karena pengaruh warisan praktik domestikasi Perempuan. Seiring berjalannya masa, saat ini telah terdapat laki-laki yang mau bekerjasama dalam menjalankan peran domestik tetapi secara umum peran domestik masih lebih ditumpukan kepada Perempuan. Perupa tumbuh pada lingkungan yang sangat beragam dalam menjalankan peran domestik sehingga Perupa memiliki perhatian khusus terhadap topik ini. Karya diciptakan untuk menyampaikan betapa sedihnya Perupa dalam merespon situasi perempuan yang ditumpukan seluruh tanggung jawab peran domestik melalui batik kontemporer. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode penelitian kualitatif dan jenis riset practice based research. Batik kontemporer Perupa pilih karena kefleksibelannya dari sisi konseptual, visual, dan operasional. Batik kontemporer juga sesuai dengan sasaran audience dan latar belakang Perupa yang merupakan warga negara Indonesia. Setiap gambaran karya baik karya seminar maupun karya skripsi memiliki kesinambungan sehingga saling mendukung antara objek satu dengan yang lainnya. Di karya eksplorasi jadi seminar perupa menggunakan pewarna sintetis. Di karya akhir skripsi menggunakan pewarna alam indigofera. Di karya eksplorasi jadi seminar berwarna analogus, split complementary, dan monochromatic. Di karya akhir skripsi warna monochromatic cenderung biru. Karya berlatar suasana dalam rumah ditampilkan kedalam sebuah bentuk yang menyerupai roll film. Kata kunci : Peran Domestik, Perempuan, Batik Kontemporer, Pewarna Sintetis, Pewarna Alam. *** Domestic roles are jobs or activities related to the household or domestic sphere. Domestic roles are closely associated with women due to the legacy of domestic practices. Over time, some men are willing to collaborate in carrying out domestic roles, but in general, domestic roles are still more focused on women. Artists grew up in a very diverse environment in carrying out domestic roles, so they have a special interest in this topic. The work was created to convey how sad artists are in responding to the situation of women who are burdened with all the responsibilities of domestic roles through contemporary batik. This research uses a qualitative research method approach and practice based research type. The artist chose contemporary batik because of its flexibility in conceptual, visual, and operational aspects. Contemporary batik also suits the target audience and the background of the artist, who is an Indonesian citizen. Each image of the work, both seminar works and thesis works, has continuity so that each object supports each other. In the exploration work for the seminar, the artist uses synthetic dyes. In the final thesis work, he uses natural dye Indigofera. In the exploration work for the seminar, the colors are analogous, split complementary, and monochromatic. In the final thesis work, the monochromatic color tends to be blue. The work, which is set in a home, is displayed in a form that resembles a film roll.
