Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman santri terhadap materi pelajaran fikih yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya partisipasi aktif santri dalam proses pembelajaran. Pembelajaran yang masih didominasi oleh metode ceramah membuat santri kurang terlibat secara aktif sehingga pemahaman terhadap materi belum optimal. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang dapat mendorong keterlibatan santri secara aktif, salah satunya melalui penerapan metode diskusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode diskusi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman santri pada mata pelajaran fiqih di Mts Al-Azhaar Ummu Suwanah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 26 santri kelas VIII.2 banat. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, tes, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode diskusi mampu meningkatkan pemahaman santri. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan dari hasil tes pada setiap siklus. Pada kondisi awal, persentase post test sebesar 34,61%, Setelah tindakan pada Siklus I dengan pendekatan mind mapping, hasil post test meningkat menjadi 46,15%. Selanjutnya pada Siklus II dengan pendekatan role playing, hasil post test meningkat signifikan menjadi 80,77%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa metode diskusi efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman santri sesuai dengan kriteria keberhasilan penelitian. ***** This study was motivated by the low level of students’ understanding of fiqh course material, which is caused by a lack of active student participation in the learning process. Learning that is still dominated by the lecture method results in students being less actively involved, so their understanding of the material is not yet optimal. Therefore, a learning method is needed that can encourage active student involvement, one of which is through the application of the discussion method. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the discussion method in improving students’ understanding of fiqh at Mts Al-Azhaar Ummu Suwanah. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The research subjects were 26 female students in class VIII.2. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The research results indicate that the use of the discussion method was effective in improving the students’ understanding. This is evident from the improvement in test scores across each cycle. Initially, the post-test score was 34.61%. Following the intervention in Cycle I using the mind mapping approach, the post-test score increased to 46.15%. Furthermore, in Cycle II using the role-playing approach, the post-test score increased significantly to 80.77%. These results indicate that the discussion method is effective in improving students’ understanding in accordance with the research success criteria.
