Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran keterampilan berpidato berbasis multimodal untuk siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang mengacu pada model Borg & Gall. Subjek penelitian meliputi tiga guru dan 113 siswa dari MAN 3, MAN 4, dan MAN 6 Jakarta (3 siswa pada ujicoba one to one, 30 siswa pada ujicoba skala terbatas, dan 80 siswa pada ujicoba skala luas). Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, wawancara, observasi, lembar validasi ahli, dan penilaian performa pidato, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif serta analisis statistik kuantitatif melalui gain score dan uji-t. Untuk mengetahui kelayakan model, dilakukan beberapa pengujian, yakni validasi pakar, ujicoba one to one, ujicoba skala terbatas, dan uji efektivitas. Berdasarkan validasi pakar, model pembelajaran berpidato berbasis multimodal terbukti memenuhi semua indikator yang relevan dengan skor rata-rata masing-masing pada aspek kelayakan bahasa 4,3, kelayakan isi 4,7, dan kelayakan media 4,7 dari skor maksimal 5,0. Selanjutnya, hasil ujicoba pada uji one to one sebesar 4,6, dan pada ujicoba skala terbatas sebesar 4,0. Sementara itu, hasil uji efektivitas dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest, menunjukkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata yang signifikan dari 2,5 menjadi 3,5 dari skor maksimal 4,0. Implementasi sintaks 4M di kelas memperlihatkan peningkatan motivasi, keterlibatan aktif, serta rasa percaya diri siswa dalam berpidato. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran berpidato berbasis multimodal terbukti praktis, efektif, dan potensial untuk diterapkan secara lebih luas. Kata Kunci: Borg & Gall, Model Pembelajaran, Pidato Multimodal, Sintaks 4M****This study aims to develop a multimodal-based learning model to enhance students’ public speaking skills in Indonesian Language and Literature lessons at the Senior High School (SMA) level. This study employed a research and development (R&D) design referring to the Borg & Gall model. The research subjects included three teachers and 113 students from MAN 3, MAN 4, and MAN 6 Jakarta (3 students in the one-to-one trial, 30 students in the small group evaluation, and 80 students in the field evaluation). Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, expert validation sheets, and public speaking performance assessments, and were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques and quantitative statistical analyses, including gain scores and t-tests. To determine the model’s feasibility, several evaluations were conducted, including expert validation, one-to-one trials, limited-scale trials, and effectiveness testing. Based on expert validation, the multimodal public speaking learning model met all relevant indicators, with average scores of 4.3 for language feasibility, 4.7 for content feasibility, and 4.7 for media feasibility, out of a maximum score of 5.0. Furthermore, the one-to-one trial scored 4.6, while the limited-scale trial scored 4.0. Effectiveness testing using pre- and post-tests showed a significant increase in average score from 2.5 to 3.5 out of a maximum of 4.0. Implementing 4M syntax in the classroom demonstrated improvements in student motivation, active engagement, and self-confidence in public speaking. Consequently, the multimodal public speaking learning model has been proven practical and effective, with strong potential for broader application in Indonesian Language and Literature instruction at the SMA level.
