Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi belajar sejarah siswa kelas XI-2 SMA Negeri 44 Jakarta yang cenderung pasif, kurang fokus, dan mudah bosan akibat penggunaan metode ceramah yang monoton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah siswa melalui penerapan metode Token Ekonomi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis & McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 36 siswa kelas XI-2 SMA Negeri 44. Data kualitatif dan kuantitatif diperoleh melalui observasi, angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Token Ekonomi dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah siswa. Berdasarkan hasil angket, rata-rata persentase klasikal meningkat dari 58,27% pada pra siklus menjadi 62,22% pada Siklus I dan 70,00% pada Siklus II. Hasil tersebut diperkuat oleh data observasi aktivitas siswa, wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan partisipasi siswa selama proses pembelajaran sejarah. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode Token Ekonomi berhasil meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah siswa kelas XI-2 SMA Negeri 44 Jakarta. ***** This study was conducted due to the low history learning motivation of Grade XI-2 students at SMA Negeri 44 Jakarta, as indicated by passive behavior, lack of focus, and boredom caused by the monotonous use of the lecture method. Therefore, this study aimed to improve students’ history learning motivation through the implementation of the Token Economy method. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) followed the Kemmis & McTaggart model and was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study involved 36 students of Grade XI-2 at SMA Negeri 44 Jakarta. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results showed that the Token Economy method improved students’ history learning motivation. Based on the questionnaire results, the class average percentage increased from 58.27% in the pre-cycle to 62.22% in Cycle I and 70.00% in Cycle II. These findings were supported by observations of students’ learning activities, interviews, and documentation, which indicated increased student engagement during the history learning process. In conclusion, the implementation of the Token Economy method successfully improved the history learning motivation of Grade XI-2 students at SMA Negeri 44 Jakarta.
