Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi siswa terhadap dukungan emosional orang tua dengan kepercayaan diri siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar di Kelurahan Kenari. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 315 siswa kelas IV dari tiga sekolah dasar negeri di Kelurahan Kenari, dengan sampel sebanyak 176 siswa yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik proportionate random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner skala Likert yang mengukur persepsi siswa terhadap dukungan emosional orang tua dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment setelah data memenuhi uji normalitas dan linearitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara persepsi siswa terhadap dukungan emosional orang tua dengan kepercayaan diri siswa (r = 0,376; p < 0,05). Hasil koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap dukungan emosional orang tua memberikan kontribusi sebesar 14,14% terhadap kepercayaan diri siswa, sedangkan 85,86% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin positif persepsi siswa terhadap perhatian, empati, kasih sayang, penerimaan, dan rasa aman yang diberikan orang tua, maka semakin tinggi pula kepercayaan diri siswa. Meskipun hubungan yang ditemukan berada pada kategori rendah, temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa dukungan emosional orang tua merupakan salah satu faktor yang berhubungan dengan perkembangan kepercayaan diri siswa sekolah dasar. Oleh karena itu, dukungan emosional yang diberikan secara positif dan konsisten perlu terus dikembangkan untuk mendukung perkembangan psikologis siswa.***** This study aimed to examine the relationship between students' perceptions of their parents' emotional support and the self-confidence of fourth-grade elementary school students in Kenari Urban Village. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational research method. The population consisted of 315 fourth-grade students from three public elementary schools in Kenari Urban Village, with a sample of 176 students selected through proportionate random sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires measuring students' perceptions of their parents' emotional support and students' self-confidence. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test after meeting the assumptions of normality and linearity. The results revealed a positive and statistically significant relationship between students' perceptions of their parents' emotional support and their self-confidence (r = 0.376; p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination indicated that students' perceptions of their parents' emotional support contributed 14.14% to their self-confidence, while the remaining 85.86% was explained by other factors beyond the scope of this study. These findings indicate that the more positively students perceive the attention, empathy, affection, acceptance, and sense of security provided by their parents, the higher their level of self-confidence tends to be. Although the relationship was categorized as weak, the findings suggest that parental emotional support is one of the factors associated with the development of self-confidence among elementary school students. Therefore, positive and consistent emotional support from parents should be continuously fostered to promote students' psychological development.
