Abstract
Kata Kunci: Billing, Ketersediaan Dokumen Ekspor, Ketepatan Waktu Penagihan, Logistik Ekspor, Persepsi Pekerja ***** This study aims to analyze the timeliness of billing conducted by PT Yusen Logistics Indonesia for one of its export customers, as well as to examine the relationship between export document availability and billing timeliness based on the perceptions of workers directly involved in the billing process. The study is motivated by the company's policy requiring invoices to be issued within a maximum of 14 days after the Estimated Time of Departure (ETD), although in practice the billing process is frequently hindered by export documents that are incomplete or not received on time. This research employs a qualitative method using the Miles and Huberman data analysis model. Data were collected through observation, documentation study, and in-depth interviews with three informants, namely the Billing Supervisor, Assistant Billing Supervisor, and Billing Person in Charge (PIC), and were validated through source triangulation and a cross-informant validation questionnaire. The findings reveal that documents received by the billing team are rarely complete from the outset, resulting in billing timeliness that does not fully comply with the company's 14-day policy, particularly for reimbursement invoices dependent on third-party documents. The study further identifies a clear relationship between export document availability and billing timeliness, indicating that the primary obstacle lies not in the billing system's technical capacity, which is already adequate, but in document availability as a prerequisite input for the billing process. This research is expected to contribute to the development of export logistics management knowledge and to serve as an evaluative basis for the company in enhancing the effectiveness of document management and billing procedures.
