Abstract
***** The creative industry requires employees who are capable of generating new and useful ideas, products, or work procedures for organizations. In the implementation of a hybrid working system, employees’ freedom to organize and carry out their work is expected to be one of the factors that support creative performance. This study aims to examine the effect of job autonomy on creative performance among creative industry employees in the hybrid working era. The study involved 175 creative industry employees who had been working under a hybrid working system for at least three months. The instruments used were the Work Autonomy Scales to measure job autonomy and the Self-Reported Creative Performance Scale to measure creative performance. Data were analyzed using regression analysis. The results showed that work method autonomy, work schedule autonomy, and work criteria autonomy each had a positive and significant effect on creative performance. Among the three dimensions, work schedule autonomy made the greatest contribution to explaining variations in creative performance. These findings indicate that employees’ freedom to determine work methods, organize work schedules, and establish work criteria can support higher levels of creative performance. Therefore, organizations should provide employees with work autonomy accompanied by clear goals, responsibilities, deadlines, and work standards to support employees’ creative performance within a hybrid working system.
