Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil penilaian terhadap eksplorasi pewarna alami dari kulit dan biji kelengkeng melalui teknik kanoko shibori. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis pre-eksperimental design dan desain one-shoot case study. Penelitian ini menghasilkan lima produk lembaran kain dengan motif kanoko shibori. Pengumpulan data dilakukan oleh penilaian dari lima panelis ahli berdasarkan instrumen dengan skala penilaian (rating scale). Eksplorasi pewarna alami dari kulit dan biji kelengkeng melalui teknik kanoko shibori dinilai berdasarkan teori estetika menurut Dharsono Sony Kartika & Nanang Ganda Perwira (2004) yang meliputi unsur desain, prinsip desain, dan asas desain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian estetika dari hasil eksplorasi dari kulit dan biji kelengkeng secara keseluruhan memperoleh persentase sebesar 89,88% yang dapat dikategorikan sangat baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa produk hasil eksplorasi pewarna alami dari kulit dan biji kelengkeng melalui teknik kanoko shibori sudah diterapkan dengan baik. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pewarna alami kulit dan biji kelengkeng berhasil menghasilkan lima produk lembaran kain yang mampu menghasilkan kualitas estetika visual yang baik dan sesuai dengan teori estetika menurut Dharsono Sony Kartika & Nanang Ganda Perwira (2004). Sehingga limbah kulit dan biji kelengkeng dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber pewarna alami yang mendukung pewarna tekstil yang ramah lingkungan. ***** This study aimed to evaluate the results of exploring natural dyes derived from longan (Dimocarpus longan) peel and seeds using the kanoko shibori technique. An experimental method with a quantitative approach was employed, specifically utilizing a pre-experimental, one-shot case study design. The study produced five fabric pieces featuring kanoko shibori patterns. Data were collected through evaluations by five expert panelists using a rating scale instrument. The exploration of natural dyes from longan peel and seeds via the kanoko shibori technique was assessed based on the aesthetic theories of Dharsono Sony Kartika and Nanang Ganda Perwira (2004), covering design elements, design principles, and design tenets. The results indicated that the overall aesthetic evaluation of the products achieved a score of 89.88%, placing them in the "very good" category. This demonstrates the successful application of the kanoko shibori technique using natural dyes derived from longan peel and seeds. Thus, it can be concluded that the natural dyes from longan peel and seeds successfully produced five fabric pieces exhibiting high visual aesthetic quality in accordance with the aesthetic theories of Dharsono Sony Kartika and Nanang Ganda Perwira (2004). Consequently, longan peel and seed waste can be utilized as a source of natural dye, supporting the production of eco-friendly textiles.
