Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh penggunaan metode Survey, Question, Read, Review, Recite (SQ3R) berbantuan media Sutori terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks cerita pendek pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 94 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif quasi experimental design dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah sebanyak 60 murid yang terdiri atas 30 murid di kelas eksperimen dan 30 murid di kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji syarat analisis statistik SPSS 30.0 dengan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, uji homogenitas dengan uji Levene's Test, dan uji hipotesis dengan uji Paired Sample T-Test. Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas diperoleh nilai signifikansi pretest dan posttest memiliki nilai signifikansi lebih dari 0,05. Hasil uji homogenitas menunjukkan data pada kedua kelas dengan jumlah murid atau sampel sejumlah 60 murid memperoleh nilai signifikansi lebih dari 0,05 sehingga data homogen. Lalu, hasil uji-T pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan nilai signifikansi two-sided p kurang dari 0,05 yaitu <0,001. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh signifikan nilai pretest dengan posttest pada pemahaman literal, reorganisasi, inferensial, evaluasi, dan apresiasi dengan metode Survey, Question, Read, Review, Recite (SQ3R) berbantuan media Sutori terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks cerita pendek siswa kelas XI SMA. ***** This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of using the Survey, Question, Read, Review, Recite (SQ3R) method assisted by Sutori media on the reading comprehension skills of short story texts among grade XI students of SMAN 94 Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative research method with a quasi-experimental design, using a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 students, comprising 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. Statistical prerequisite tests were conducted using SPSS 30.0, including the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, Levene's Test for homogeneity, and the Paired Sample T-Test for hypothesis testing. The normality test results showed that the significance values for both the pretest and posttest were greater than 0.05. The homogeneity test results showed that the data from both classes, with a total sample of 60 students, obtained a significance value greater than 0.05, indicating that the data were homogeneous. Furthermore, the T-test results for the experimental class showed a two-sided p significance value of less than 0.05, namely <0.001. The findings of this study indicate a significant effect between the pretest and posttest scores on literal, reorganizational, inferential, evaluative, and appreciative comprehension through the use of the Survey, Question, Read, Review, Recite (SQ3R) method assisted by Sutori media on the reading comprehension skills of short story texts among grade XI students of senior high school.
