Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keberagaman kesenian di Kota Bekasi, khususnya tarian tradisional. Di antara berbagai tari yang berkembang, tari Lenggang Bekasi secara konsisten dipertunjukkan dalam berbagai kegiatan resmi maupun publik serta memperoleh posisi sebagai tari khas Kota Bekasi. Fenomena tersebut menunjukkan adanya proses konstruksi yang menjadikan tari Lenggang Bekasi memperoleh legitimasi sebagai tarian yang menjadikan ciri khas Kota Bekasi. Permasalahan penelitian berfokus pada bagaimana relasi kuasa-pengetahuan berperan dalam mengontruksi tari Lenggang Bekasi sebagai tari khas Kota Bekasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis proses kontruksi tersebut melalui perspektif Power/Knowledge milik Michel Foucault. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Sumber data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari narasumber, peristiwa, dokumen, dan pustaka. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui empat cara, yaitu 1) Wawancara dengan narasumber. 2) Pengamatan terhadap objek yang dilakukan secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. 3) Studi Pustaka yang berkaitan dengan tari Lenggang Bekasi dan teori Power/Knowledge Michel Foucault, dan 4) Studi dokumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi tari Lenggang Bekasi sebagai tari khas Kota Bekasi terbentuk melalui relasi kuasa-pengetahuan antara koreografer, sanggar seni, dan pemerintah daerah. Relasi tersebut menghasilkan serta memproduksi wacana mengenai tari Lenggang Bekasi sebagai tari khas Kota Bekasi yang kemudian diperkuat melalui berbagai praktik sosial dan pertunjukkan yang berkelanjutan sehingga membentuk rezim kebenaran yang melegitimasi sebagai identitas Kota Bekasi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi secara teoretis dalam kajian seni budaya, khususnya yang menggunakan pespektif Michel Foucault, serta secara praktis bagi upaya pelestarian dan pengembangan tari tradisional sebagai identitas suatu daerah. Kata Kunci: tari Lenggang Bekasi, kuasa/pengetahuan, Michel Foucault. ******* This study is motivated by the diversity of traditional arts in Bekasi City, particularly traditional dances. Among the various dances that have developed, the Lenggang Bekasi dance has been consistently performed at official and public events and has gained recognition as the traditional dance representing Bekasi City. This phenomenon indicates a process of construction through which the Lenggang Bekasi dance has acquired legitimacy as the dance that symbolizes the identity of Bekasi City. The research focuses on how power–knowledge relations contribute to the construction of the Lenggang Bekasi dance as the traditional dance of Bekasi City. The objective of this study is to analyze this process of construction through Michel Foucault's Power/Knowledge perspective. This study employs a qualitative research design using a descriptive approach. The data were obtained from informants, events, documents, and literature. Data were collected through four techniques: (1) interviews with informants; (2) direct and indirect observation of the research object; (3) literature review related to the Lenggang Bekasi dance and Michel Foucault's Power/Knowledge theory; and (4) document analysis. The findings reveal that the construction of the Lenggang Bekasi dance as the traditional dance of Bekasi City is shaped through power–knowledge relations among the choreographer, art studios, and the local government. These relations produce and reproduce discourses that position the Lenggang Bekasi dance as the traditional dance of Bekasi City. The discourses are subsequently reinforced through various social practices and continuous cultural performances, forming a regime of truth that legitimizes the dance as the cultural identity of Bekasi City. This study is expected to contribute theoretically to the field of cultural and arts studies, particularly those employing Michel Foucault's perspective, and practically to the preservation and development of traditional dance as a regional cultural identity.
