Abstract
***** This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the P2R (Preview, Read, Review) method on the Arabic reading comprehension skills of grade X students at MA PERSIS 69 Matraman. This research is a quantitative study employing a pre-experimental design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest design. The population and sample for this study consist of all grade X students at MA PERSIS 69 Matraman. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling. The instruments utilized in this study are pretest and posttest instruments consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions. The results of the normality test using the Shapiro-Wilk test indicated that both the pretest and posttest data were normally distributed. The homogeneity test using Levene's test yielded a significance value of 0.143 (p > 0.05), indicating that the research data were homogeneous. The hypothesis testing using the Paired Samples T-Test resulted in a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Consequently, the null hypothesis was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. In addition, the N-Gain test showed that the improvement in Arabic reading comprehension skills fell into the medium category, with a score of 0.56. Therefore, it can be concluded that the P2R method is moderately effective in improving the Arabic reading comprehension skills of grade X students at MA PERSIS 69 Matraman. Consequently, this study contributes by providing practical implications for teachers in selecting moderately effective learning methods.
