Abstract

Karakter merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak. Sekolah perlu melaksanakan strategi yang tepat untuk mengembangkan karakter anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana strategi pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah di Jakarta. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian meliputi kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kesiswaan, pelatih ekstrakurikuler dan guru. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, display data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Ada 4 jenis karakter yang dikembangkan yaitu religius, disiplin, tanggung jawab dan peduli lingkungan, (2) Penanaman karakter dilakukan melalui program ekstrakurikuler sekolah yaitu Tapak suci, Hizbul wathan dan Olahraga. (3) Ada 7 metode utama yang dilakukan untuk menguatkan karakter siswa yaitu motivasi, nasehat, hukuman dan penghargaan, keteladanan, pengawasan dan penegakan aturan, (4) Penanaman karakter melalui budaya sekolah dilakukan dengan kegiatan rutin, spontan, terprogram dan pengkondisian (5) Pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter mampu mendorong pembiasaan ahlak yang baik pada siswa, (6) Ada faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter, yang bersumber dari sekolah, keluarga, dan siswa. Kata kunci: Pendidikan karakter, sekolah dasar Character is an important aspect in children's development. Schools need to implement appropriate strategies to develop children's character. This study aims to describe how the strategy of implementing character education in elementary schools. The study was conducted at one of Muhammadiyah Elementary Schools in Jakarta. The study was conducted qualitatively with the case study method. Research subjects included the principal, vice principals in student fields, extracurricular trainers and teachers. Data collection is done through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis was carried out through 3 main steps namely data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The results showed (1) There were 4 types of characters developed, namely religious, discipline, responsibility and care for the environment, (2) Planting characters was carried out through school extracurricular programs namely Tapak Suci, Hizbul wathan and Sports. (3) There are 7 main methods used to strengthen the character of students, namely motivation, advice, punishment and appreciation, role models, supervision and enforcement of rules, (4) Planting characters through school culture is carried out with routine, spontaneous, programmed and conditioned activities (5) The implementation of character education is able to encourage good habits in students, (6) There are factors supporting and inhibiting the implementation of character education, which comes from schools, families, and students.
