Abstract

Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data empiris kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas IV SD yang dalam pembelajarannya menerapkan Problem Based Learning. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SD Jakarta Timur khususnya di kelas IV semester 1 tahun ajaran 2016-2017. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik Multiple Stage Random Sampling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen, dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Only Design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes tertulis berbentuk uraian dan dianalisis dengan uji normalitas dan homogenitas, yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, menunjukkan bahwa t hitung sebesar 8,620, sedangkan harga ttabel pada taraf signifikan = 0,05 adalah sebesar 1,67. Artinya hipotesa nol (Ho) ditolak dan hipotesis penelitian diterima (H1). Dengan demikian dapat artikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif signifikan Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas IV SD. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Problem Based Learning dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu pendekatan dalam pembelajaran matematika yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas IV SD. Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning, kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas IV SD. The experimental research studied that aims to obtain empirical data mathematics problem solving ability of student in 4th grade of elementary school was apply problem based learning on learned. The experiment was conducted in Elementary School, East Jakarta especially in fourth grade 1st semester of the school year 2016-2017. Samples were taken using multiple stage random sampling technique. The method used in this study is the experimental method, with form Pretest-Posttest Only Design. Data collected by using essay test instrument and analyzed with normality test, and homogeneity test afterwards analyzed using t-test hypotheses. Base on the calculations show that tcount 8.620, while the price ttable at significance level α = 0.05 is equal to 1.67. It means that null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and accepted research hypothesis (H1). Thus it can be concluded that there is a positif and significant impact on the use of Problem Based Learning to mathematics problem solving ability of fourth grade students in elementary school. The result showed that Problem Based Learning can be the one of learning approach mathematics that increase mathematics problem solving ability of student in 4th grade of elementary school.
