Abstract

Film The Young Victoria mewakili tindak tutur direktif dengan menggunakan ujaran Victoria sebagai seorang ratu pada masa pemerintahannya pada saat itu. Victoria memiliki efek pada banyak orang menggunakan ujarannya untuk mencerminkan bagaimana memerintah seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis tindak tutur direktif di dalam ujaran Victoria dan mengetahui tanggapan yang ditunjukkan pada ujaran tindak tutur direktif Victoria. Metode analisis deskriptif dan teori Searle digunakan untuk penelitian ini. Data diambil dari ujaran Victoria yang berisi tindak tutur direktif dan juga tanggapan terhadapnya. Temuan tersebut mengungkapkan ada 70 ujaran yang berisi 6 jenis tindak tutur direktif, ada 27 ujaran permintaan (38,5%), 14 ujaran perintah (20%), 13 ujaran kritikan (18.5%), 10 ujaran pertanyaan (14.2%), 3 ujaran usulan (4.4%), dan 3 ujaran larangan (4.4%). Sementara itu, tanggapan dari 70 ujaran tindak tutur direktif tersebut adalah 34 tanggapan positif, 21 tanggapan negatif, dan 15 tidak ada tanggapan dilakukan dengan beberapa karakter sebagai pendengar. Secara lebih dekat hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa jenis direktif yang menonjol adalah permintaan, dan Victoria menggunakan semua enam jenis tindak tutur direktif kepada suami nya, Prince Albert. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun Victoria adalah istri Prince Albert, dia juga seorang ratu yang bisa memerintah suami nya. Adapun tanggapan terhadap tindak tutur nya, terutama untuk perintah, Prince Albert lebih memberi tanggapan positif atau menaatinya, kecuali saat ia berpikir bahwa Victoria kehilangan emosinya. The Young Victoria movie is representing the directive speech act by using Victoria’s utterances as a Queen in her reign at that time. Victoria has an effect to people using her utterances reflect how to direct someone. This study aims at examining the types of directive speech act in Victoria’s utterances and to the responses Victoria’s directive speech act in movie script. Descriptive analythical method and Searle’s theory are used to this study. Data are taken from Victoria’s utterances that containing directive speech act and also the responses to her utterances. The findings revealed that there are 70 Victoria’s utterances which contain six types of directive speech act, there are 27 utterances of ordering (38,5%), 14 utterances of commanding (20%), 13 utterances of criticizing (18.5%), 10 utterances of questioning (14.2%), 3 utterances of suggesting (4.4%), and 3 utterances of prohibiting (4.4%). Meanwhile, the responses of those 70 directive speech act are 34 positive responses, 21 negative responses, and 15 no responses. A closer look at the finding shows that the dominant types of directive speech act is ordering, and Victoria uses all six types of directive speech act to the dominant response that is her husband, Prince Albert. This indicates that although Victoria is Prince Albert’s wife, she is also a queen that could command her husband. As for the responses to her directive speech act, especially to her command, Prince Albert mostly gives positive response or obeys her, except when he thinks that Victoria is loosing her temper.
